I had lived at eastgate woods apartments now for eight months, and they are very beautiful apartments, the area/neighborhood is great, except that they are located next to the highway. I have gotten use to living next to the highway and I really do not mind it. But the management of this place is just rediculous.

After my year is up I will never come to this place again, nor recommend anyone to move here. The manager allows his maintnance to enter peoples apartments with no permision of the living renters, the staff is unwilling to even deal with people. And the maintnance themselves do a easy fix with anything that needs to be fixed and not bandaid over.

In the end of march there was a gas leak which caused a gas explosion in the laundry room in my apartment building, it was so hard it shook me outta bed while sleeping and I live on the top floor.  We all ran outside at 5 in the morning and stood outside watching for another 5 hours while the fire department tried to get victims out and wait till it was safe enough to come back in. After 5 hours I was told that I would not be able to stay in my apartment for a while, so I begged to get some of my stuff and headed down to stay with my parents. I had to miss work that day because I could not even get ready nor had my keys for work.

As I sat there distressed the manager showed up, laughing, and smoking a cigarette infront of the building. Who smokes right by the doors of a place that just exploded? Not even knowing if it was safe enough to do so. After being turned away from my home, I drove away with a few outfits of clothing and my kitten, wondering what I was suppose to do about living somewhere.

For 4 days I had to drive back and forth to my job which is 45 mins away from my parents so 45 mins both ways is a pricey when you are living pay check to pay check. I got a call a day later from the book keeper, she told me that they were getting an inspector to check if the aparments were stable. If my apartment suffered damaged they would be moving me out to another apartment a building next to mine, and they would move all my furniture. If it was stable enough I could stay in my apartment until my lease was up. Or I could leave right then, and not have to worry about my remaining lease but I had to be out within 2 days. Well I thought about leaving and moving elsewhere, but I had no money nor time to move, nor a place that would let me move in within 2 days!

So the apartments got inspected and I got a call 3 days later that I was fine to come back. But in the mean time through those four days, they boarded up the doors so no one would be able to enter. I came home to discover that all my groceries went bad, $300 worth. Not including the fact that I had to pay my parents money for staying there just like a hotel, waste a few tanks of gas to go back and forth to work, waste gas to come pay my rent also, and buy food to eat for those 4 days. I had to spend money out of my pocket because they put me out of my home!

I called one more time and asked the book keeper since she was the only one handling this if they were going to reinburst me for my loses and also atleast lower the rent for a month. She just laughed at me and said "oh honey no one is going to give you a month free of rent." as to I responded saying that I only asked if they would lower it. She said I could write it up and she would give it to the manager and he would decide what he would like to do about it. And as for my loses she told me to contact red cross and maybe they could help. I hung up knowing that they would do nothing for me. And I've lost to $500 for groceries and out of pocket expenses, plus the rent I had to pay, and I could no even replace any of my groceries afterwords because I literally had no money then.

I wrote up a letter that I submited to the office for the 4 days that I was kicked out and they agreed to lessen my rent my 56 dollars just that one time. I was feeling a bit better I did not have to pay full rent, but it changed nothing for me. I am still struggling with money currently and two months later barely anything in my fridge. I am quite upset that they did nothing for any of their tenants, and I will never live here again. Be aware if you ever come across this place, they put up a good show, but it's not so pretty once you live here.
