Easy Duplicate Finder is a free App, so named.When Loaded into computer it looks for duplicated files to remove, may take 60 minutes and more. When scan complete it requires registering and a $49 fee to complete task. If you get shock and don't want to pay fee, it is virtually impossible to remove the program from computer. Their advertisment is misleading and for me installed an extremely difficult program to remove. I paid a computer service fee to have it removed.
If an App has additional fee to fuction then it's not free! This program was PC approved.

Hi Bill and I'm sorry you had a negative experience with our software. I'm sorry you found some wording misleading, however, we do not claim it to be a free app. We do, however, offer our users to download the app for free (you didn't need to pay for downloading the file). Then, you have the trial version that you can use to scan your computer for duplicate files as much as you want and you can delete 10 groups of duplicates for free. After that scanning remains free and you can view the results, but you'll need to upgrade to be able to perform any file management actions. Most download sites (CNet, Softpedia, etc.) list the information about trial version limitations.
There is a big Upgrade button on our website and clicking on it leads to the cart with prices, so you could have accessed them at any time before downloading and installing.
Also, I'm sorry you had trouble uninstalling EDF. I'm not sure why because it's a standard procedure and you can find the instructions on this page: https://www.easyduplicatefinder.com/help.html (look under Tech Tips).
