He convinced me that he could definately take care of it and the support he coould guarantee and the price was $799 but because I was a Senior he could give me a discount of only $399. After 3 months they began to tell me my problem was not the pc but it was my network and they could fix it but it would cost me more. They started finding different things that were not covered under their protection until I finally looked them up and found out they were a scam. The next step they did was calling my cell phone to tell me they were closing down and they wanted to refund me all my money then they tried to get me to get into my bank account with them logged on and make changes but I told them all they needed was my routing number and acct number and that's it so they hung up on me. Now that I know it's a scam how do I get my money back or did I lose it for good?

Sorry, man, that money is gone goodbye.

Since you fell for this, I want to make sure you don't fall for any other typical senior-targeted scams.

Hang up immediately on anyone who:

1: Claims to be a grandchild or any relative or friend in truoble who needs you to bail them out - do NOT engage in any discussion - hang up. If you're really concerned about the veracity, call a number you know belongs to that person, or someone in their family.

2: Anyone or anything claiming to be collecting loans, fines, back taxes, or anything from anyone. Do not even call back a number they give you. And never fall for anyone trying to get you to pay for anything with gift cards or crypto currency like Bitcoin.

They are all crooks.

3: Never listen to anyone telling you you won a lottery, but have to give them your bank info, or pay something first, like taxes.

If you really wish to say anything to them tell them to die a horrific death by burning. Maybe, depending on where they're from, they'll be superstitious enough to die of a heart attack on the spot and you'll have helped rid humanity of them.

You ever get popups like this on a device again, either close the browser completely, or shut the whole device down.

Go into the settings of every browser you use and make sure it does NOT reopen the most recent page after being shut down.

Download Opera and use that instead of Chrome, firefox or Edge - It's much safer.
