I have a complaint about EasyRide shuttle service in Costa Rica when my husband and I were on vacation there.

We sent EasyRide our payment via PayPal (for $200) that was to cover transportation from the San Jose airport to Dominical, Costa Rica and then also to be picked-up in Dominical and dropped off at a hotel in San Jose the following week.  Fortunately, they remembered to pick us up at the airport.

Unfortunately, when we were to leave, the shuttle did not arrive to pick us up in Dominical to bring us to San Jose.  We tried to contact the shuttle driver and continued to get his voicemail and no answer.   He also did not return our calls.  I then walked to a hotel office where you can schedule the shuttle pick up times, and the office attendant said that another couple came to her the day before and said they were not picked up by EasyRide either and needed assistance arranging transportation.  Their ususal excuse was "the van broke down".  She too left a message for the driver with no response back.

We then had to arrange for a cab to drive us to San Jose which cost us $160 (vs the $100 that it would have been through EasyRide).  Once back to the states, we checked our PayPal account and the refund had not been processed for our return transportation from Dominical to San Jose.  We also did not receive an email confirming the cancellation or an apology for service not provided to us.
Per their website:
Mechanical problems. In the event that our vehicle experiences mechanical problems due to breakdown or accident, the reservation will be cancelled by Easy Ride Shuttle Services and the portion of the service that cannot be completed will be refunded. Avanti reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to make alternate arrangements in the event of a mechanical problem or accident to complete the trip.

As of 1 month later, we have not received a phone call, email response, or refund.  Our bank and PayPal also denied the $100 refund.  I did a search on EasyRide and they are known to pull this on other customers as well.   How do you get a refund from a scamming company when no one will help you?
