I bought some great flowers for my wife from Proflowers.com last October. I must have signed up for some kind of coupon on a separate offer after I had completed my purchase. All they asked for was my email address and my zip code.

I thought that it would be fine since I didn't give any credit card info. I thought that I even read some fine print and I might have ended up declining. I remember thinking that someone almost got me.

Yesterday, I noticed a charge on my account from easysaver. It was for 14.95. I googled easysaver and thankfully I found this site that told me that it was a scam.

I called easysaver today and told them that I wanted a refund and that I didn't authorize the charges. The lady on the phone asked when the first charge was. I told her that I thought it was a few days ago. She said that she'd have it refunded.

I was polite and she was and it seemed easy.

Then I realized that I had 3 other charges from easy saver to my account. The lady on the phone hadn't told me that those other charges existed. She let me think that there was only the one.

I called back and told them that I wanted the other charges dropped. The Lady this time wasn't as kind. She told me that I had the number on my bank statement and I could have called and canceled at any time.

She also said that she could only take off two of the charges. I told her that I wanted all of them removed, and I asked to speak to her manager.

Then she said that they would refund them all. We'll see. Beware!

I contacted proflowers and complained and they sent me a form email. I know it was a form email because I replied to it saying that it seemed disingenuous. Then they sent me the exact same email in reply to that. They are aware of the problem.

I too have been a victim of Easy Saver-EMI

#6Consumer Suggestion

Thu, April 16, 2009

I too have been a victim of Easy Saver-EMI. In my case it went on for 11 months without my knowledge. I was deployed with the military and someone else was overseeing my checking/debit card account statements. They didn't realize this was an ongoing unauthorized charges, after I had ordered flowers through "FromYou Flowers.com".

Though, I see most of the complaints are affiliated with "ProFlowers.com' and their associates. I thought I'd mention that there are other companies that send credit card information to Easy Saver-EMI, as well without authorization. Additionally, I never received any emails or regular mail that I had become a member or authorized the monthly charges.

After, I returned from my deployment and saw these charges I immediately called 1-800-355-1837 and demanded to speak to a supervisor. Of course, there was the explanation that I had authorized the charges. I stated I wanted to see it in writing for the record. At this point, the supervisor said that wasn't possible. She offered to refund only 6 months and I said that wasn't acceptable and would report this. She then offered the full 11 months refund. I asked for a confirmation to be sent.

Below is the confirmation sent and will update on this site if the total refund isn't granted.

I will have to say that easy saver actually gave me all of the money back that they charged me. While I think that some people aren't as lucky. They did what they said here.
