I signed up for the "free" 14 day trial membership offer through a survey company, even though I had to pay $4.95 s/h for the folder of information they sent me. I signed up on the 4th and called on the 18th to cancel. On the 18th, there was a pending debit from my bank account for $49.90 but it had not cleared yet. The customer service representative rudely informed me that the day I signed up, the 4th counted as a full day and even though it was 2:00pm on the 18th when I tried to get my refund, that it was considered 15 days and they do not authorize refunds. I asked to speak with management and was told that they would just say the same thing. When I informed them that there was many reports on them on ripoffreport, she said that that was because people don't call within 14 days. When I calmly stated that I felt that this was a ripoff and that I would be filing a ripoffreport as well as a fraudulent debit claim with my bank, she said "ok, if theres nothing else I can help you with, have a good day" in a very rude, sarcastic manner. I have also noticed that after the initial confirmation notice, the company had exhibited no contact with me whatsoever. Most legitimate companies list a contact phone number when they debit a bank account. However, there was no contact information for this company at all. In fact, trying to find any way to contact them at all was difficult. I had to search through e-mails, (which most people delete immediately) to find the original confirmation to contact them. I also noticed that the e-mail address, the website, and the billing center all had different titles, making contact even more difficult. My cancellation (to prevent future billing) notice simply said from Billing Services- no company name at all any where. The only way I knew it was from them was to look up the e-mail address it was sent from.
