Complaint Review: Ebay

BEWARE OF EBAY AND WHEN THEY VIOLATE THEIR OWN POLICIES!

I was your regular ebay seller, but my customer service was above and beyound what the adverage seller gives.  eBay admits that on Adverage a seller receives feedback from 1 out of 10 sales.  I received 484 Positive feedbacks and 1 nutural feedback out of 602 sales.  During my 3rd month of selling, I bought 200 iPhone 5 cables.  Yes they were Generic as I stated in the listing.  I even got on the phone with a eBay representitive to go over my listing to make sure I was not commiting any copy right infrigment.  We looked at other sellers that were selling more than 100 of the same cables for over 3 months to use as a comparison listing. I sold 4 cables for $3.99+ $1.69 shipping.  After 4 days I was suspened by ebays Vero program.  The e-mail said this company that belonged to the Vero program accused me of copyright infrigment.  It was a 7 day suspension, I did a little research on the company that reported me because they stated they were doing this on behave of Apple Inc.  Which did not make sence to me.  Apple is a Big company, did they really need to hire a small company to surf ebay for copyright infringments? Iam sure they could make a program in a day, that will bring up every copyright infrigment on eBay against Apple.  I called Apple, who said they do not have any association with the company, and that they currently do not belong to ebay's Vero Program.

After 7 days, I went back to selling all the things I sell.  Mostly electronics, Adveraging about $18,000 in sales a month. So Recently I received more cables, each with their own retail box.  I once again called eBay and sent them pictures after I printed Generic on the boxes.  I was told by four eBay emplyee's that I was not violating any copyright infrigment laws.  No matter how many times I asked to speak to someone in the Vero department I was told they do not take calls.  I had a lot of information on the company that reported me last time.  I found out that for a little money, they would report any of your competitors listings as long as the actual company that held the patents was not in the VERO program.  I had a written letter from APPLE INC. saying they are in no way affiliated with the company that reported me.  I wanted to let eBay know that they had a company lieing to them.  

So 2 days later, I was kicked off the eBay for copyright infrigment, reported by the same company.  I was so angry when I called eBay, I would not let them get off the phone with me.  I talked to 8 different people, making each one listen to the recorded phone calls of a eBay representative and myself going over the listing and clearly stating that it did not violate any copyrights. Finally after th 8th person told me this is a parting of ways, and there is nothing she could do.  I said you could let me talk to VERO.  she was frustrated, and blurted out "YOU CAN'T TALK TO ANYONE IN VERO BECAUSE THE PERSON THAT RUNS THE VERO PROGRAM ONLY COMES IN FROM 10AM-2PM, AND HE HAS ALREADY LEFT FOR THE DAY" I was speechless for a moment, and said "So only 1 person works in the vero department and is avalible from 10-2? she said yes.  Then I replyed loudly "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT 1 PERSON WORKS IN VERO AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THE DECISION FOR 1000'S OF SELLERS, AND IT IS QUITE CLEAR THAT HE DOESN'T LOOK FOR COPYRIGHT INFRIGMENT.  HE JUST TAKES THE WORD OF COMPANIES THAT SAY THEY REPRESENT MAJOR COMPANIES LIKE APPLE.  AND WITH A CLICK OF A BUTTON HE CAN TAKE AWAY PEOPLES MAIN INCOME IF I PAY A COMPANY $80 TO REPORT THEIR LISTINGS, DON'T YOU SEE THE PROBLEM HERE?  NOW IAM STARTING TO THINK THAT MY ACCOUNT BEING CLOSED WAS TO AVOID DEALING WITH THE PROBLEM THAT YOU HAVE FAKE COMPANIES LISTED IN YOUR VERO PROGRAM."  From there she had me hold for a supervisor to arrange a phone meeting which will be next week.  eBay does not know it yet, but the person I have been talking to that represents Apple will be avalible for this confrence call to ask how did they verify the companies that joined the vero program, and what did they do for a backround check to make sure they were affiliated with Apple Inc.  

My point is,  As a eBay seller there are only a few eBay merchants that bring in over $500,000 in sales a week, if you dont sell atleast $10,000 a week you need to be very careful.  record every phone call.  They will even hold it against you if you buy something that turns out to be fake and you have to open a case to get your money back.  All that information is taken into accout by a computer program that decides ifyour a risk or not.  I will update this situation on eBay's VERO program SCAM after the confrence call.
