Beware: Ebay Store Sellers

Do not invest heavily into the Ebay Premium or Pro Ebay Store offering.
Ebay has extended New Unfair Seller Performance Tactics that drastically reduces
the security of your long term business investment.

There are now very unrealistic order defect metrics that is guaranteed to reduce
you to a basic ebay store platform, AFTER YOU HAVE HEAVILY INVESTED PREMIUM OR PRO
PLATFORM LISTING DISCOUNTS. One might assume that an order defect is selling a
broken item, but Ebay has recently redfined the definition of an "Order Defect."
Now, an order defect is any transaction that requires an Ebay customer service
moderation.

I list all of my items "NO RETURNS" because I offering FREE shipping on all of
my listings. "NO RETURNS" means nothing to ebay. I still have nearly a 20%
buyers remorse rate that requires. Typically, when a customer is unhappy I
give them a Cost of item (after shipping) refund or a full refund. This is not
satisfactory to ebay. They are now forcing me to purchase a Return Shipping Label
and provide a full refund.

Examples:
Hostile Customer purchased a back brace for $9.99 w/ FREE shipping. Immediately,
after purchase customer threatens to cancel if not delivered immediately. Paid
$9.14 for shipping, and item arrvied within defined shipping parameters. I made
$.85 cents. When item arrives to hostile rude customer, they immediately left me
unreasonable negative feedback. Another seller contacted me about this customer
abusing sellers, and asked me to report them to ebay. In the same few moments, the
customer began to demand a full refund, and the purchase of a return label.
I reported the issue to ebay, and nothing happened. Shortly after, the customer
contacted ebay with a bogus report. After offering to accept a full refund upon
return on a NO RETURN listing, ebay forced a full refund before reciving the item
back. NO BIG DEAL, until I recieved an order defect in my metrics log.

Nearly every "order defect" metric I received was refunded and handled correctly.
There was no reason to be penalized for I lost more then douyble earnings on every
one of those transactions. The only reason the were categorized as "order defect"
was because Ebay was asked to moderate the resolution. Often times, ebay buyers
go straight to ebay before even contacting the seller.

I have 220 transactions over a 1 year span, and I had 6 times that ebay was asked
to moderate a resolution, which I quickly resolved in the expected correct format.
Ebay gave me 90 days to reduce my order defect ratio. Due to the New introduction
of Seller performance metrics, 90 days to correct what 1 year generated was a very
unfair time scale for account correction. I was compliant, and did everything ebay
asked of me. Sales are slow on ebay. Now days, ebay buyers are nothing more then
ebay sellers spending their earnings. I found 90 days was an unfair time frame to
fix what a year generated. When I contacted the appeals department to fix these
unfair "order defects," they told me they can only fix them 30 days after the
transactions. I was then told that most of my "order defects" could have been fixed
within 30 days of the transactions, if I had contacted ebay. This seller performance
system is new, so order defects fixing did not matter 90 days ago. After pleading
that my seller integrity and long term commitment to ebay is true, I was told tough
luck. As quoted by the appeals team professional, this is a black & white system.
There is no room for judging past matters. If your metrics reach the Ebay store
minimums, you are out.

What does that mean to me? Well, after listing 500 items in my basic store
subscription it became a hobby being non-profitable. I then realized that if I
invested long term into the premium ebay store subscription, I could list more items
and become profitable. I made the move feeling secure with ebay at the time.
I invested over $1000 listing 1000 more items. I am now at 1645 listings in my
premium ebay store. After 3 months, I begin to sell a bit more becoming slightly
profitable, finally. When the all NEW excessive order defect penalty reduces me to
a Basic store subscription. This will force me to pay ebay around $500 more in ebay
fees then I make each month or I will have to make some drastic cuts to my listings.
These cuts will result in over a $1000 loss regarding my long term investment cost
to sell securely on ebay, not to mention the losses of product investment that I
will also lose. My account will be in immediate chaos, when I try to reduce my 1645
listings to something manageable in the Basic store subscription level.

EBAY, please address this broken seller metrics system. Your best sellers no longer
have a long term investment security. The problem is not your best sellers. The
problem is your hostile buyers that wear a mask of innocence when they contact you
for moderation. Ebay has been losing ground for nearly a decade. This unfair
seller performance metrics system is sure to make Amazon dominant in regards to used
product sales online.

ATTN: EBAY SELLERS, DO NOT INVEST IN THE PREMIUM OR PRO EBAY STORE SUBSCRIPTION.
The metrics system guarantees that you lose most of your long term investment.
