This is to advise you that there are several sellers, high profile, selling fake tiffany & co diamond rings and fake cartier diamond rings.

These sellers are buying plain tiffany or cartier platinum wedding bands, fusing a stone setting on the top and inserting a diamond.  Then they are calling it a tiffany or cartier diamond engagement ring.

Diamondten located in the midwest is one of these sellers.

the other is MIKAELIANS-JEWELRY

If you buy a tiffany or cartier diamond ring, take it to tiffanys or cartiers and have it validated.

thank you

Always get an appraisal...

My parents had a store in Manhattan and specialized in antique/platinum wedding rings. Anyone considering a purchase needs to get it appraised to make sure they are not getting ripped off. You also have to use a reputable appraiser as shady ones have been known to switch stones as well, and then the buyer or seller ends up screwed.

My parents sold the store and now do most of their selling on ebay with no problem. The seller shows clear pictures and the buyers bid. The winning bidder can return the ring if it is found not to be worth what the appraised value is as stated in the auction, with a guarantee. That is the type of place to do business with whether ordering online, or at a store. And if using ebay, always read any negative feedback if any so you know what others have experienced and how the company deals with problems. And reporting rip offs on sites like this can help others to be weary, and give the merchant the opportunity to explain their side if they so choose.

As far as whatever Edgeman is talking about regarding razor blades and jeans..I  would recommend the dollar store if you prefer to buy cheap crap..or go to a reputable dept store if you are concerned with counterfeits, there is no reason to by razor blades online, they are not hard to find locally or particularly rare or hard to find cheap versions.

As far as electronics..almost everything is made in China these days with no quality control or extensive field testing, those days seem to be a distant memory..you never know what you are going to get from anywhere. We heard of the bad laptop batteries, the 70,000 or so lithium-ion batteries used in Compaq and HP notebook computers were recalled by Hewlett-Packard Co., as they could overheat and potentially catch on fire. Those were name brand batteries that came with the laptops purchased from major retailers. Fortunately no one was hurt..but the laptops are another story.

Counterfeits - More common than you think...

Counterfeits have become extremely common and not limited to high end products. In fact, common consumer goods such as toothbrushes, memory cards, cell phone batteries, razor blades and blue jeans are high profit centers for counterfeiters.

If you're going to buy something on eBay or an unfamiliar website, do some research first. Some of these products are not only of lower quality, they can also be dangerous.
