I have been harassed by an ebay member for several months now. This member purchased an item from me nearly a year ago and did not pay for the item or respond to a payment reminder or a non-paying bidder notice. I left the bidder negative feedback for this and they have responded by harassing me. I am sent e-mails nearly every day from this member. In these e-mails this member calls me names and tells me what they are doing to hurt my business on ebay. They leave negative feedback about me in other members feedback bars when they purchase items, and according to this member they are mass e-mailing ebay members about me, telling them not to do business with me. Today (7-10-06) I received four harassing e-mails from this member. I have reported every harassing e-mail this member has sent me to ebay, but so far they have not done anything, and the harassment is continuously getting worse! I am filing this report in hopes that ebay will finally pay attention to the needs of their sellers and do something to stop this harassment. It would be better to stop this harassment now while the member is sticking to e-mail, rather than wait till they do something serious.

You should have had this person's name and address sent to you after they had won your auction. I suggest that you print out all of the threatening emails and run them by an agent of the FBI. Here in Texas, stalking is taken quite seriously and a complaint to the governor activates the Texas Rangers. You should not wait until something physical happens.

Ebay probably could care less. They were great 6 years ago, but have gone down hill with excessive growth and some of the unscrupulous leeches they attract. Good luck to you.

Dustin,

Contact the cyber-crimes division of the FBI and file a complaint. This is a criminal offense and felony charges can be filed.

Also, you can get the full name and address and all contact information of any ebay member you have had dealings with. Get this information and file a complaint of stalking and harassment with your local police dept, as well as the police dept where this person resides.

Also contact this person's ISP and file the same complaint.

Change your email address and do not make it available in your user profile at ebay. This means all of his contacts will have to come to you through the contact member feature of the ebay website. Then there will be a log at ebay.

Hope this helps.

Get Stalker's name out

What is this e-bay member's user name? Posting it here might help other sellers in knowing what type of a person/stalker they're dealing with. It also might cause a seller to decline a bid from this person.

At any rate, your best defense is to get this person's/stalker's user name or names out here on the net along with your the story of your dealings with that nut job.
