I came upon a listing by a seller who was offering a DVD with a live band performance on it that they do not have my permission to use or sell, therefore violating my Rights of Publicity. Ebay's listing rules state that you cannot list any item which violates a persons's Rights of Publicity or Privacy. In addition, the seller posted information in the item description directing people to their personal website where other items related to the DVD were available for purchase. These points are in vioaltion of Ebay listing policies as well.

I tried contacting Ebay through their normal help channels and received the normal automated response, asking you to wait for 24 hours for a reponse. Days past with no response. I contacted them again. No response. I finally found their contact phone numbers on a random internet information page. I phoned them up and got a CSR who sounded like they just crawled out from under a rock. I explained the situation in full to them, and that the auction needed to be looked at immediately. Their response was "You have to wait for the Investigation Team to conclude its work". It had already been 6 days since my first complaint, and it doesn't take but a minute to pull up an auction on a computer screen. I explained how much time had passed and they persisted in responding with the Investigation Team excuse. Angered, I hung up on them.

The next day I called again and got a different CSR who said they'd forward my complaint directly to the proper people who would attend to it right away. Again, no response a day later and the auction was still posted. I phoned them again and got a CSR who directed me to the "live chat" link, which no one had mentioned up to that point. They said "hit the link and choose the "Other" selection and wait for the CSR to come on line". This email conversation got me a link directly to the "listing control" department, where a box is provided to "complain" again. And once more the automated response said give them 24 hours to respond RIGHT.

All this work resulted in NOTHING happening, no response. The seller was able to complete the auction, and advertise its off-Ebay sale to who knows how many people and Ebay did NOTHING about it!

Ebay is negligent, they don't consistently enforce their policies and like everyone else on here feels, they are a 14-billion dollar rip-off machine that supports anything that gets them their Seller Fees and screw everybody else.

I had a friend complain as well, and they ignored his contacts as well. Anyone starting a CLASS ACTION SUIT? I'M THERE!!!
