I tried to sell a guitar and amp on ebay. After the auction the high bidder said he only wanted the guitar and not the amp and would only pay about 2/3rds of the bid price. I refused.

Ebay keeps trying to charge me a fee on the whole transaction. They send threatening letters every week. They refuse to provide a phone number or an email where you can talk to someone to try to sort things out. They will only let you go through their messed up web site with premade issues, none of which address the real problem.

After I did this three times, they sent an email (they get to, but you can't reply to it) saying they were going to take care of things. They never did. They said they give better service by not actually talking to anybody. If this web service is better, their service people must be really shitty to talk to because this sucks. Nobody there cares!!!

The number: 1-408-376-7400 is the same for billing, administrative and technical, so there may menu options to select, in order to speak to the applicable department. When selecting this option, you might be stuck with a long wait. If the wait is too long, try to get in through another department.

When I've had problems with cable, computer related among others, the sections I called would never let me through, so I played dumb and went in through the sales department. The department where they take your money, is always accesible. Just an idea.

Here are two addresses to consider:

eBay.com
Administrative Contact
Payable Accounts
2145 E. Hamilton
San Jose, CA, 95125

eBay, Inc.
Registrant
2005 Hamilton Avenue, Ste 350
San Jose, CA, 95125

If this goes from bad to worse, you may consider writing them a letter, while you phone tag. Make that Certified Signature required. While the letters in route, you can work the phone.

Hope this helps.
