this company UPS is the worse in the delivery industry.

Ive had these drums for years. In storage, never used. Brand new old stock.

One time I ship them UPS and they get destroyed.

I sent a vintage, old new stock acrylic drum set.Brand new vintage that cant be replaced, has been discontinued.

bubble wrapped and packed well.3 boxes.

Went to Kansas City. One box made it to Kansas city but that was the last time it was seen.Lost,Cant find it.Gone.Non replaceable.Contained two drums, bubble wrapped

the bass drum box was received today by recipient, was smashed ,cracked, destroyed, cant be replaced.

third box, was recd by recipient today,Smashed,Destroyed.

they have people that work there that dont have any repsect for other peoples property.

AND It seems to only happen with my vintage merchandise I send.If I sent some piece of crap,it would have made it.

they are insured, but so what.they cant be replaced.

I swear when the handlers see its insured they mishandle it more on purpose.

I was told by former drivers, never put fragile stikers or handle with care stikers on any packages because the onpurpose mis handle it more.

the money doesnt matter. Its the principle also.

what do we do with smashed cracked merchandise?

Their handlers should be picking bananas or pitching crap some place.

Dont use UPS and Fed ex is worse.

Carry it there  yourself. At least it will make it.

Ive shipped in the past a vintage clarinet, non replaceable,60 years old,,$3300.,got runover by a tow motor. And was sent to a location 1 1/2 hours from here..Should have gotten in the car and hand delivered it  myself....I shipped a vintage '70's Bass guitar,$3800 in a hardshell case, got smashed in half, destroyed and would have had to fall out of a airplace at 50,000 feet in the air to be in that condition.

Moral of the story, dont ship anything UPS worth over $10.00.Why? Because it wont make it.

Anything vintage or worth money,Hand deliver it.

UPS, YOU SUCK

UPS the worse

In regards to the comment about the source and the person packing the packages.

For anybodys information, Ive been dealing with UPS almost since day one or at least 40 years.

Im not a green horn to this packaging stuff.Ive seen all the changes in this company over the years, and its worse now thanever.why because according to theupper management Ive talked to,admitted they have a hard time getting good required help.

As far as the drums are concerned, they were not just the shells.they were in fact totally kept togerther iwth the heads and hoopes assembled for the extra support.

they in fact were very well packed for the occassion.

As far as the chances of the them getting smashed is exactly what Imtalking about. What are the chances of one box getting totally lost and disapearing when  and just before it get s to its destination.

Thats what the gribe is.Gets to Kansas city and dissapears.why? Because you have thieves working in your hub or organization.

whoe s faught is it that a tow motor ran over my clarinet? eh> Mine, the buyer who's.

No the careless fool that doesnt give a rats a*s about other peoples property.

I know the stikeers that say fraigle this end up etc dont mean anything, why because they get more abused with them on the package.

You want to see how good UPS is, Ill get 1000 complaints against this company.Just remember, your not talking to a idiot that just sent his first package.

Ill tell you about drivers that stole money, damaged packages on purpose, drivers that had drug  and drinking problems, drivers that didnt get ladi first thing in the morning.

You want experience, you came to the right person.Over 40 years of experience.

How long before the problem source is recognized?

I have owned and operated a shipping facility for eight years. We've seen damage, however, not with items packaged by this business. We have never had a single dish, framed glass, or otherwise fragile item break during shipping. This is not by pure luck, but rather we merely follow the packaging guidelines found in ALL carrier websites.

Does this complainer have any idea what the odds of THREE drum packages being damages simultaneously?? There is another factor here besides the carrier, and that's how the items were packages. The first (and what should be the most obvious) packaging concern is the fact that drums are HOLLOW! Bubblewrap protects from scratches but give zero strength to the outer box. Drums like these are larger boxes, therefore will tend to be at the bottom of any stacking. What fill was used for the internal voids...peanuts? newspaper? Was the box new or like new with a minimum ECT of 200? Store boxes for drums have little integrity as they were not designed for bulk shipping, but that is probably a concept that goes in one eyeball and out the other for this complainer. The main strength the drum packing had came from the drums themselves. In other words, the only thing keeping the drums from imploding was the drums themselves! I've shipped hundreds of drums, amplifiers, guitars (both electric and acoustic), etc, etc, and have never had a problem. If a clarinet was actually run over by the delivery truck, the insured amount will be paid, PERIOD!! There's other issues here, insinuated by this complainers spelling a choice of vocabulary.

When damage occurs, file a claim with that carrier. If packaging is inferior (and we've seen some items packaged lazily or ignorantly - including drums), then the carrier will deny the claim. When the claim is denied with UPS or Fedex, a statement is faxed or mailed explaining the details. If the packaging does meet guidelines, it WILL be approved for the insured amount.

Fragile stickers, like other package markings such as 'THIS END UP', 'DO NOT BEND', 'RUSH PERISABLES', etc, etc, have no purpose on boxes. Most of the handling is robot automated and otherwise handled in a fashion that doesn't come close to breaching the enclosure protection, assuming it is packaged to industry guidelines. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to comprehend this concept, but there will always be those few that just don't have what it takes to do what's necessary...they find it much easier to blame others for their own inadequacies.
