i recently tried to purchace a quad thru ebay the individual advertising the quad had his e-mail adress at the bottom of the ad. so i e-mailed him and he e-mailed me bach explaining that i would receve a invoice from ebay and would proceed to follow instructions on the invoice. i receved a invoice this being my 1st time buying anything this way was totally gullable. the invoice directed me to send $2500.00 usd thru westren union and the MTCN# was to be held by ebay untill i receved the product. so i sent the money and it was picked up however from that day on i found it to be very suspicious that for 1 week i dont hear from ebay or the seller. so when i phone westren union to see what happened then and only then did westren union tell me that ebay never wires money thru them. but yet when i sent the money the lady new this was for a ebay transfer and assured my the invoice was lagit and there was nothing to worrie about. apparently the invoice as well as the purchace protection plan was not sent to me by ebay but a outside scammer who infact was missreresenting ebay. to make a long story short email fraud that neither ebay who was advertising the product knows this is a fraud scam will not look into the problem. and westren union knowingly new that ebay never send money thru them allowed it to happen and im out $2964.00 can and everyone tells me im s**t out of luck and to kiss my money goodbuy. you would think ebay would look into the problem or have it investigated but they tell me the ad they represent aare not there problem as they didnt send me the invoice. i feel if ebay & westren union have warnings or things to be very cautious about it should be advertised more clearly by both parties espechally western union who basically explained everything to me verbaally. i have kept a record of everthing to date e-mails everthing and have the proof of the fraud and if you saw it you too would have walked right into it. thak you for your time dwight lheureux hope maby you people can help me out i would much rather get a phone call from you than a e-mail. call me @ 17808084267

IT'S posted RIGHT ON THEIR HOME PAGE! What more could you want? Ebay's home page says, DO NOT SEND PAYMENT VIA WESTERN UNION! Read next time and you won't get scammed.

Also, never never never send an email thru a link, other than the 'ask seller a question' link.

And, never go thru email for a transaction, always go thru My Ebay.

Do you have the Ebay auction #? Or was this an off Ebay transaction? If it was an off Ebay transaction, you are out of luck. Where did you send the money? What was the physcial address?
This is the rules from Ebay on escrows
"Using Escrow Services

Important: Only use www.escrow.com.

An escrow service is a licensed and regulated company that collects, holds, and sends a buyer's money to a seller according to instructions agreed on by both the buyer and seller. Typically, once the buyer receives and approves the item from the seller within an agreed time frame, the escrow service then sends the payment to the seller.

Escrow is available for any purchase, but typically is used for purchases of $500 or more " Nothing about Western Union there.
Please post the auction # ok, Thanks.
