I purchased a barebone from Econo PC .Purchased barebone #BBPCP47224 . That is a barebone 478 socket .Motherboard ,processor and 300 watt power supply .Cost me 301.00 total. They did not contact me and tell me they did not have this barebone in stock ,instead they took it upon themself to send me something else.

They sent me item #BBPCP4224,which consists of a pent 4 423 socket motherboard.Which i am told works with the 478 socket pent 4 processor ,,but is not as stable as a 478 board .They adapted my 2.4 gig pent 4 478 socket chip to this m/b.The price of this barebone is 237.00 dollars .

Did not get any money bak ,instead they charged me 301.00 for a 237.00 barebone .I complained and so did the source that purchased it for me ..They told us thats what they have ,and thats what they send when they didn't have the other .If i was not satisfied ,send it bak at my cost for shipping .And they would charge a 15% restocking fee.

Well i decided to eat it and keep it on account of i din wanna lose more than i already have on the deal .Then the m/b had a problem with the ram slots ..Sent that to them at my cost for shipping .They claimed they tested the board and was nothing wrong with it .Charged me another 47.00 for testing the motherboard and shipping it bak to me ..Funny part about that is they sent me a brandnew m/b and proc .If there was nothing wrong with it ,why would they send a new 1 ? They said for customers satisfaction .Which sounds rather fishy to me .

I do have the pc running now ,Yet i had to do much searching throughout the net and computer shopws for specs on usb power connectors and other things tech should have beeen able to help me with .Yet they wouldn't .Instead they told me they would fix it if i sent it to them at my expense and paid them to do so .

Even tho they are the reason the board was removed from the case ,to send it to them for repair and testing ..I see it as Econo Pc is a money making facility and cares less about there customers satisfaction ..The warrenty they provide is a fluke ,cuz if it wasnt they would never charge people qwhen they replace things .

I see it as Econo PC owes me the remaining balance from 301.00 -237.00=64.00 and the 47.00 they charged me to test and ship and the 6.00 i paid to ship m/b to them ..thats a total of 117.00 they have ripped me off and they was planning on making it higher .

I dont advise any1 to purchase anything from this facility .And i never will ever again .Sure would appreciate any1 with any help on this matter..BBB bureau says im out of luck ,but i believe EconoPC has them fooled ,along with many other people .

isnt it rather funny that the econopc webpage has been taken down ?www.econopc.com....last i heard this company has changed more names than 1 could keep track of..why would someone change the name of there company so many times ?would it be because they are nothing but a scam artist ripoff group of people juss out thee to make money and does not care who they ripoff to do so ?I think so ..otherwise why would a company change there name so many times ..due to all the bad publicity and reviews they get from such sites as these ..we the consumers thank all the people so much for sites like this so we can see about a company b4 we get ripped off ..THANK YOU

even more news after a year i find out

not only did econo rip me off money wise and by sending the wrong m/b ..after 1 year of running this ensamble they sent me .The m/b toasted and took the p4 2.4 gb 533 fsb 478 socket processor with it ...After aduring many searches and talking to many techs besides myself we have come to this conclussion to why thw m/b did not last...For the last year i have noticed a what seemed like a low power failure to the pc.Turns out the p4 478 processor takes a tad bit more power than the 423 processor.

In doing the bridging of the 478 proc to the 423 m/b the processor was not recieving all the power(volts) it was designed for.P4 478 m/b's have a dual power plug to subside the needed xtra power needed ..the power supply i have has this plug but the m/b does not.So the proc and m/b was burned up cuz the m/b was not supplying the needed voltage that was recommended for the 478 proc ..and in due the processor was making the m/b work harder..in return burning them both up.thats our theory anyways..so i had to spend another 270 dollars for another 478 socket m/b and 2.4 gb proc ..wich is what i ordered from Econo in the first place..I shipped the m/b and processor to Econo cuz i was to have a 2 year warrenty on it ..they sent it bak to me and said this is not our problem.I am now adduing a lawyer against them for not honoring there warrenty..for total cost of there whole barebone i bought the money paid to them to test and shipping..and the price it cost for my new m/b and processor from there competition www.tigerdirect.com..who i would recommend any1 to go to ..but for Econo PC i recommend no 1 going to them for they dun honor there warrenty and they do as they please and not what the customers ask for..Not to mention they are very rude to wutt could have been a returning customer in the future ..No thanks ill stick wiff tiger from now on and i recommend every1 else to also.See you in court Econo PC..oh yeah bring ya check book wiff ya!!!!!!!
