1.)Bought an open-boxed, refurbished Govideo DVD player/VCR. Unit came in opened brown box (not manufacturer's box) with RMA # written on it, in it was a copy of invoice for previous sale, charged less HANDLING FEE, a hidden charge. No warrenty card & wrong remote (for Sharp TV) included. Can't operate 90% of the functions without the remote control.

Called customer service, was told open-box items are sold as-is, not returnable (never stated on invoice). They suggest I call manufacturer to get remote; call Govideo, they want $29 + shipping.

2)Also ordered Syntax wireless USB adapter for $29.95,from email received ecost.com. This offer comes with a $29.95 rebate. Was notified by email the item was sold out. Interestingly, I forwarded the original email to a friend, who ordered same item a day later & received the item. I replied immediately, told them to cancel order because it was near the rebate deadline. They still shipped the item several days after I cancelled my order, by that time the rebate deadline had expired. Was told No REFUNDS under any circumstances; can exchange only if defective.

3.)Had several orders in the past where the actual invoiced amount is different from the advertised price on-line, from which I placed the order. When this happens, it was always marginally higher but never lower. The difference each time is not much, only pennies, but if they do this often & to many other customers, which I suspect I'm not the only one, they do gain considerably. Other wise, it was faulse advertising!
