Complaint Review: Ed Lara - Ferguson Advantage Imports

Ed Lara from Ferfuson Advantage Imports called me on the phone because he heard from another dealership that I was looking for a car. I had had my eye on a Ford Taurus in Broken Arrow and asked him if he was the guy with the 1999 Ford Taurus. He said no, but he had one if I'd like to come look at it. I told him that I didn't want to drive all the way back to Broken Arrow which is about 2 hours from my house unless I knew for certain that I would be approved for the financing that I wanted. He spent three days getting information from me and my husband so that he could do a credit check and approve financing. He called me back and informed me that we had in fact been approved for what we wanted and all we had to do was go get the car that we wanted.

I was somewhat skeptical about the Taurus because of the name of the car lot, but I considered the posibility that they took it as a trade in.

My husband and I went down there and we could only get him to show us 1 car in several different colors. It wasn't a Taurus, but we were somewhat interested in it. We spent over four hours in his office trying to get the financing that we wanted for the car. In the end, they wanted a larger downpayment and much larger monthly payments than they had promised once we got there.

Also, we have a totalled Chevy Corsica that he told us that we could use towards a down payment. I was really doubtful about that. I found out after we got there that he had no intention of telling the lenders that the car was in fact totalled. He also lied to them about my husband's income.

This place is completely dishonest and a complete waste of time.
