Complaint Review: Ed Wyse Beauty Supply

My wife, (fiance' at the time), worked for Ed Wyse Beauty Supply @ 480 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, OR 97301 from January to July 2013. From the beginning it was apparent that the store manager Sarah was threatened by her work ethic, knowledge, spirit, and experience. Sarah would act unprofessionally, watching DVDs while at work, using nail clippers on her finger as well as toe nails then put them back on the shelf, ask my wife if she knew where to get controlled substances, and also threaten my wife with termination if she told the store owner. Sarah also denied my wife a breathing treatment for a medical issue once.

Another employee, Chelle, was a world-class screw up and acted like a diva yet my wife would go to great lengths to help her & try to keep the peace by taking the high road. The last straw was when Chelle cussed my wife out for some imagined slight with the manager Sarah right there, and they both took sides against my wife in some sort of catty high-school like behavior. 

After contacting the owner, Suz Wyse, more than once about all of these issues, my wife gave her two weeks notice provided that if Suz would address the issues, then my wife would stay. A few days later, Suz called the store while my wife was working and asked for her to turn her key in and leave, and that day would be her last working there because she had decided to accept her 2 weeks notice.

My wife felt like she had went through the chain of command appropriately and that Suz made no effort whatsoever to fix the issues, so she filed for Unemployment. At the telephone Unemployment hearing, Suz lied and said that profanity wasn't even in Chelle's vocabulary. Without ever even having been to the Salem store, I'm not sure how Suz addressed the issues with the other 2 employees, so I am positive she lied to protect her company from having to pay my wife Unemployment. Of course the other 2 employees sided with Suz in their own efforts to protect their jobs as well.

In closing, company owner Suz Wyse and the 2 other employees, Sarah and Chelle, lied to testify against my wife and save the almighty dollar. I hope it was worth it. I would like to state to the general public that if you purchase a new personal grooming device at the Ed Wyse store in Salem, it may have been previously used and put back on the shelf.
