EDP Reporting ripoff online short term loan account fraud Valley Village California
EDP Reporting has apparently created a way to get my information, through a process which appears to be a short term loan application, but in fact it is an application for a Secured Debit Card.
I recieved a draft on my account for $159.95 about 5 business days after I placed a request for a short term loan.
They informed me that if cancellation is completed within 3 business days I am eligible for a refund. If it is after that there is no chance for a refund.
I spoke to a customer service (only in name) representative who when asked the address and numbers of their orginization, he gave me false information. Very close to the actual information but false because the changed the street address and the suite number and the zip code. He also gave me an incorrect direct phone number.
I have since closed my account and have disputed the charges to my bank, which may or may not get me my funds back.
I then did extensive research and found that there is well over 100 people that have reported them as a ripoff. They also have incidents reported on this website.
I called back to get further clarification about why I am not eligible for a refund and some other details about the company. I was informed that I can't have any of their information such as how long they have been in business and other facts like that. They also told me it was company policy that no refund be issued.
I am a pretty savy web surfer (although I feel less so today) and have seen many scams, but this is by far the best one I have seen because they hide their intentions in a long laundry list of terms and conditions. I do normally read T & C's but this time I didn't read the whole thing because of the excessive terms and conditions (which should have been a warning flag).
