eFax is quite possibly the worst online service I have yet encountered. A friend of mine recommended it to me in lieu of a fax machine so I figured I'd give it a try. I do a lot of business so I opened up two accounts so I could have two different fax numbers. The service itself worked well enough but when I wanted to cancel one of the numbers, I was forced to go through an infuriating cancellation process.

On the eFax website, they give you a number which you can call to presumable talk to a customer service representative but all the number tells you to do is to go online and use their Live Chat assistance. So I went ahead and did that. After over a dozen attempts on both a Mac and PC to use their web based chat client using Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari (it froze all the browsers) Finally, the chat window worked but I had to wait over an hour for a representative to even show up and when they did they kept asking me why I was canceling over and over. It doesn't matter why, I simply want to cancel my account.

Finally, the rep closed it out after twenty minutes of chatting. Unbelievable. I felt like I was talking with a robot. The process, all told, took over 5 hours. I know what you may be thinking, that I have no idea how to use computers but I have been in computer development for over 20 years and I know a garbage infrastructure when I see one. Beware at all costs, it may seem like it is a convenience but I'm telling you, you're better off just getting a darn fax machine.
