EHarmony is a major rip off. The company has been inundated with false profiles. These 'matches' apparently emanate from either Africa or some place in Russia. It is relatively easy to spot the imposters but it takes an inordinate amount of time to do so. While I was a member (for over a year) I spent so much time weeding through the fakes that I could just as easily have spent the time cruising bars, and probably would have had more success. What I don't understand is-how do these phonies create soooo many profiles? Are they paying for this or getting time on eHarmony for free? I can't imagine how it could be worth their time if they're having to shell out bucks to join.

Has anyone out there actually been ripped off for money from these criminals? I hope not, but if not-it's just a matter of time. Why else would they go to the trouble of creating profiles. Come to think of it-many of them are not 'created' but rather copied and pasted from others' legitimate profiles. It's a dead giveaway when the imposter uses the wrong gender in his or her profile. Disgusting.

I emailed eHarmony with HUNDREDS of names of these fakes. Their response was to (sometimes) send a polite bs email. Finally, I asked for my money back and cancelled my subscription. Needless to say-I've not been refunded.

So...if you believe their commercials on tv, go ahead and sign up, but whatever you do be scrupulous and diligent in reading profiles. Don't trust that eHarmony has actually 'screened' anything except these phonies pay source.

I've considered filing class action against them. Anyone have any idea how to proceed?

Thanks, and good luck,
Sick of eHARM!!!
