I signed up with Ehostsource several months ago. They offered 500MB of space for under $5 a month with straming audio and vidoe capabilities. At that time I read the TOS carefully, to see what the catch was. This offers seemed too good to be true! Everything was on the up and up, this seemed the perfect spot to host my band's website. (www.thebobbleheads.com). Here I could have our audio and vidoe files Stream effortlessly!

Several months later they seemd to changed thier TOS and quietly began cancelling accounts with no refunds. While they allow you to 500MB storage, they dont allow you any reasonable bandwith. They sold all this storgae space for chaep and found out that people were were actually using it! People were posting streaming video and audio, pictures and the like.

This started eating up Ehostsource's bandwidth. Since they get charged for it and all their clients had prepaid, they decided to limit what you could put on the sites, like size and type of files, rather than charge more for bandwidth.

What kind of sense does this make? They still advertise that they are selling HUNDREDS of MB of storage space, but then, very sneakily, deep in the fine print, tell you you cant put up files of any reasonable size. Ever hear of a streaming video file that was 5 MB? While many mp3's are under 5 MB, any band is goign to want to put a lot fo their music up on the site, not just 5 files as limited by the TOS.

Once I was alerted to thier policy change, I moved my site to another server. I had signed up for a year and I was more than half over, so I didnt lose that much. I consider it a $30 lesson.
