Complaint Review: Ehostsource.com

I signed up with ehosting.com because it seemed like a good cheap way to get my small site up and running. Not even a week after I had set up the main page, I noticed that internal links that should have led to a 404 error on my site were being redirected to all these different websites.

After further investigation I discovered that the internal links were being redirected to a site owned by ehostsource.com's parent company, called Intellegent Web Marketing Inc. From that site they were then redirected to any number of different websites, apparently clients of Intellegent Web Marketing, who pay that company for "unique visitors" to their sites. Yeah, "unique visitors" that were being taken from my website, without my knowledge or permission, without this even being listed in their terms of service!

I cancelled the account this morning, and I'm eager to see if I'll actually get my money back. When they asked why I cancelled, I told them the above reasons - and they offered to remove the redirected links! I told them that simply the fact that this practice is common for them and that they do not notify consumers of this is enough for me to discontinue their service.

I would like to warn people about ehoustsource.com for hosting, and Intellegent Web Marketing, Inc. (www.i-web-marketing.com), their parent company, for online marketing services. If you already use Intellegent Web Marketing, be warned, your hits are probably coming from users that have no idea why they're viewing your site and have no wish to - not a very good value!
