Do not hire EICO Heating and Air.  They are associated with Old Republic Home Warranty who sent them to my home to do air conditioning repair.  The service request started out very badly with substantial delays in their getting out to the house. When they did arrive the problem with the air conditioner was misdiagnosed and a subsequent costly repair was made.  Not only was the probelm misdiagnosed but the work was shoddy and caused a leak in my basement which I personally had to pay to repair.  They were dispatched to my house several times afterward and continued to defend their work in spite of constant substantial water leaks.  A different company was finally sent to my house after EICO refused to properly resolve the problem.  The new company diagnosed a very simple and inexpensive source for the original problem, stated that EICO had misdiagnosed the problem, that the very costly repairs and replacements that were performed were unnecessary and they were able to fix the problem permanently.  EICO made off with $1400 for misdiagnosing a problem and then refused to follow through on proper placement of the product.  Moreover, the whole thing never needed to be done.  The new service person who came out said that the real problem was so basic that a beginner wouldn't have missed it, and that what EICO did was likely a scam -- misdiagnosing an expernsive repair so that they could make some money.

These people are crooks.  It is a small world, indeed.  A friend of mine dealt with Debby, the owner of EICO. where she started a business in a local mall.  Debby never paid her rent and when her business failed (some multilevel marketing diet supplement scheme) she packed up, taking her consultants' personal property, and left without notice leaving all of her consultants and the mall unpaid.  She was also observed treating her employees in a demeaning and hateful manner.  She is selfish and evil.  EICO Heating and Air is an incompetent and dishonest company.  You will get the sense that something is off about their company in a short period of time after interacting with them.  I strongly advise that you don't have them come to your home for any reason.

Old Republic Home Warranty company is also a scam.  They promote and are are apparently linked EICO Heating and Air in spite of known, obvious problems.  They are aware of these issues with them and have repeatedly talked to me in an arrogant manner when I have tried to address the issues I've had with EICO.  Old Republic is still trying to bill me for the faulty work, damage and expense that EICO delivered to my home.  They also continue to send EICO to other people's homes.  Old Republic has not documented any of the major issues the EICO has caused in my house and has taken no action to remedy the situation.  Rather they sent me to collection for a $100 service fee associated with EICO's damage.  This adds Old Republic Home Warranty to the list of dishonest and unethical companies.

I would report both of these companies to the Better Business Bureau except I am a public figure, and due to the public nature of filing BBB complaints I fear retaliation from them.  I have heard that Debby from EICO is known for such behavior.
