I went to DCCCD for 2 years and my graduating college was El CentroCollege where I took most my classes at. Every time I needed to get something done whether it was prior classes being accounted for towards my degree, to getting my financial aid done for the year, it was a complete fight and I had to complain to the Dean of Students every time about El Centro Colleges academic advisors and financial aid employees. I never had to complain to a higher person at any other college I attended before and found El CentroColleges academic advisors and financial aid employees to be the most unprofessional and down right nasty a*s human beings.

The Director of Financial Aid John Wells put down that I was in default on student loans and I was not because of this I received my financial aid late. Below is two emails I sent too the President of the college Dr. Paul McCarthy and the ombudsman of El Centro College and the Dallas County Community College District Dr. Bettie Tully and they never responded to either of them. You would think they would send an email to say they where sorry or explain John Wells actions, but they did not, they just ignored my emails. Just to let people know I have a 3.7 GPA and take my education very serious, I just made a mistake of going to this college and will not go to any DCCCD college any more. The graduation rate is only 7% at El

Centro
College in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Tully,

I have finished my summer two Intermediate Algebra class and caught up in my other classes and wish to go over my academic harassment complaint against John Wells at El Centro College. On my financial aid someone put down I owed money (seems like it was John Wells) and it told me to call the Department of Education. I asked John Wells about what money I owed numerous times and he told me to follow the directions on e-connect, thus to call the 800 number to find out what money I owed. When I called this number they told me that they did not have any information on me because they only have information that people are in default. Additionally, every one I talked to at The Department of Education and FAFSA told me that my college was harassing me. I was not in default and FAFSA and the Department of Education both told me they did not tell the college I was. This took a lot of time to clear up and was stressful because I thought I was not going to get financial aid. I had no problems with UTD and they processed my financial aid the same time as the community college processed it, thus was no record of me owing money on my record. Below is what it said on e-connect and everyone atEl

Centro
andEastfieldCollegetold me to call the 800 number to clear it up.

Sincerely,

Pete

Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Tully,

Eleven days a go I sent my academic harassment complaint to both of you, it is forwarded in this email. I have not heard from either of you and you both have not responded to my email. For my records I am noting that the college is ignoring me and does not care that I was academic harassed by El Centro College.

Pete.
