Went through a timeshsre presentation in Playa del Carmen with salesman James Bond (hmmm).  After we told him we were not interested in buying a unit he offered to purchase our Raintree Times share for $13,000 we figured it was a fair price and decided to sell our shares. While filling out the paper work he required us to pay up front closing fees of $3,200.  He stated in 30-45 days just like closing, we would recieve a call and a check for $13,000.  Well guess what, no call or check.  Its been over 3 months with no correspondence.  I have tried numerous emails to El Faro with no answer, and I have called them many times only to get the run around that they will call me back and they never do. I'm fed up, Time to see what my Visa Credit Card Services can do.  Buyer beware! James is Canadian, he was very smooth and conviencing, he was previoulsy employed in the same profession as myself and knew the lingo.  In reviewing our paperwork alot of the documents seem to be missing thanks to Jose Cruz, go figure!!!!

Never Buy Timeshares

The best advice is NEVER buy timeshares anywhere. It is a scam and the so-called timeshare you buy is sold over and over again to other people. It is very difficult to sell your timeshare now and renting isn't in the deal. It will cost you more to buy a timeshare and maintenance fee than to rent a hotel room or a full ownership of a condo. Don't do it.
