EL GORDO SPANISH SWEEPSTAKE LOTTERY DR JIMINEZ FRANCO INACIO SEND A LETTER THAT YOU WON THE LOTTARY AND ASK FOR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION MADRID SPAIN
I recieved one of those as well and to I am embarrassed to admit I did not have the brains to google it first.
They send a letter saying that I won 960,000 euros and I could send them my contact info and bank account info so they can meake the transaction.
It is a very official looking letter with seals and everything and they say that they would give you 3 validation certificates. I guess that is what tipped me off at first and the fact that when I called they said they cooperate with every bank.
I just hope that other people have the brains to not be fooled

I get spam e-mails all the time from the UK ironically enough. Most of these are for bogus job offers but ocassionally one slips in for some lottery I allegedly won. All they want some personal information to either get the job (which of course you get hired) or for "fees" associated with some lottery (which of course you get a check - a bad one).
Obviously, these are ALL scams and you are smart not to go for them.
There are some good stories of people scamming the scammers on 419eater.com.
Makes for a funny read.
