Electronic Arts Inc EA Sims 3 NOT compatible with MAC and EA doesn't care Redwood City, California
The Sims 3 and all of it's expansion packs are not compatible with Mac computers, whether it's the operating system, the video card or both. The company/game forum is loaded with complaints, and EA has not addressed any of the issues. The company continually releases patches for Windows users, but all Mac players are left with $100-$1000 worth of games that cannot be played. GRaphics are choppy, discolored, games freeze, crash, or don't even load at all. The only recommendations the company has offered is to re-install the game. This is something that I, along with hundreds of others, have already done and it does not help. The forums have designated "gurus" that are supposed to address issues players posts. These gurus have abandoned the mac discussion pages since July of this year. Since then, a new pets expansion packs has been released, with all of the same issues. Nothing has been fixed, or even acknowledged.

Expansion Packs

It is likely that those using the base Sims 3 has no issues. I had no issues with the base, a little lag here and there, but I have always seen that as a problem with the Sims products. However, when I paid a large amount of money for an expansion pack, the Sims 3 Pets, my game froze every time I dared to look a horse or to load a pre-made family, or create a horse. There are several complaints on the forums (http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/0/475802.page#7178360) with no worth-while response from EA.

Mac problems on The Sims 3 are ignored by Electronic Arts

The Sims 3 game is near impossible to play when expansion packs are installed, problems caused by the more recent expansion packs remain unresolved. It is not a matter of one person being able to play on a mac. There are hundreds of people that have constant freezes and crashes. The MAJORITY of people can't play on Macs and if they can there are always bugs and glitches that are never fixed.
