Electronic Express, Refund Scam Nashville Tennessee
On June 25, 2019 I purchased a 55" television from Electronic Express (EE) through Ebay. The item was shipped via Fedex who misdelivered and lost it. EE filed a claim with Fedex and was reimbursed for the package. I asked for a refund but was refused by EE who claimed it was delivered because Fedex listed it as delivered to the correct address on their tracking information. However, Fedex did not obtain a signature as there was a slash through the signature line.
I filed buyer's protection claims through Ebay and Paypal but they were denied based on the tracking information. I then filed a credit card dispute. EE contacted me by phone and requested that I drop the dispute in exchange for a refund (a type of refund scam). This is banned by the Ebay terms of service. Citicards advised me to do it so I authorized this. After it was dropped EE would not issue the refund.
I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. EE misrepresented the package as delivered to BBB. After presenting recordings of Fedex agents admitting the package was misdelivered and lost and emails of EE promising to issue the refund in exchange for dropping the credit card claim, EE then issued the refund. Had EE not issued the refund they would have been paid twice for the same item. EE is a dishonest business.
