we signed up with ems (electronic merchant services) about 3 years ago we were told we had a two year agreement but after about two and half years we started noticing strange charges on our statements for fairly large amounts when we called our rep we left a messege for him to call us back but he never did


 


well my mind went on other things and i soon forgot!! untill our next statement that is then i called him back again left another message once again no responce this went on for another three or four months with yet no call backs so needless to say we started looking for a new company to say the least 


 


when we signed up with the new company knowing my rep would not return my calls i called their generic customer service number and told them we signed with another company the person on the other end seemed quite pleasent and had said she was sorry to us go and if there was anything she could do to change our minds we told her no and thanked her for her time and she said we were all set


 


after that we felt we would just chalk the mystery charges up to experience and move on with our lives and business but were we wrong the next month we received a statement from ems for $45.00 dollars for our account that was the monthly fee and inactivity fees when we called back to complain and ask why they were still charging us after we cancelled it got even more interesting


 


they then said we had a automaticly renewing contract and for us to cancel we had to contact them right before our anniversary date (within 30 days) and  cance or it just keeps renewing over and over again forever and also they now wanted to charge me a cancelation fee of $300.00 dollars and will noteven discuss the the mystery charges or the other $45.00 dollars they also took after the account was supposed to be closed


 


all the would say over and again was read your contract when i countered to the rep on the phone how many people do you believe would sign up for your program if you told them about your cancelation policies at first she did not answer but i asked again and she admitted not many even my bank said they have never heard of such a policy in this industry so in closing if your comfortable with doing business under these conditions here is their #1-800-615-1330 if not i would strongly recomend dealing with someone else
