 We were contacted by Rebecca at Electronic Merchant Services. She told us how much we would save switching from the credit card processing company we had at the time to EMS. She told us that they would give us $400 to switch to cover the cancellation fee of the other company. She also stated that after the system is installed she would come back and train the staff on th new machine. We decided to switch to EMS. They came and installed the new machine. We called Rebecca to come train us. No response. We called several times and have yet to see or hear from Rebecca. Another issue that we have is the way the machine works. We have a restaurant. If you run a card as credit as opposed to debit (which many of our customers prefer) then you need to add the tip when you swipe it. This is totally contrary to good customer service. You should not need to ask the customer how much they are going to tip prior to running the transaction. We have called customer support and they have told us there is nothing they can do because this is how all machines work when there is a chip in the card. One of my cards has a chip and I use it at other restaurants and have never had to tell the server how much I wanted to tip before they ran the transaction.
