Complaint Review: Elephant Wireless of Md Inc.

They used the name of Cingular Wireless to get my attention and to say that I should trust that company, since I had been a customer for sometime. They said my cell phone needed to be upgraded. I was selected to receive this upgrade for $25.00 plus shipping.

Upon receiving the new phone, with all accessories, I received a letter on Cingular letter-head stating: Thank you for choosing Elephant Wireless. Com, Inc. a Cingular Wireless Branded dealer for all your cellular needs. Enclosed please find your cellular upgrade contract.

Please sign in the designated areas and mail back the contract in the self addressed stamped envelope. If for any reason these forms are not returned back to Elephant Wireless within 15 days, we weill not be able to properly process your application and we will charge your credit card $200.

After reading the above, I called Cingular Wireless, they knew nothing of Elephant Wireless, Inc.
This is a rip off company, that should be publicized so that they cannot take advantage of any other unsuspecting people.

I realize I was wrong to give them my credit card number and since then have cancelled the card, so that they may not charge me further.

In addition to the Contract there was another letter saying if for any reason I should want to return the equipment, I needed a Return Authorization Number and if returned, they would also charge me $30.00 for a re-stocking fee and they would not pay shipping fees for the returned items.

Please tell the world to be on alert to these scam artists.
