ELGORDO, Loteria Primitiva ripoff Madird Other
I received a letter with no return address claiming that I won $615,810 in the EL-GORDO sweepstake lottery program help 5th of April, 2004. It had a bunch of numbers that stated serial number and my lucky numbers as well as reference and batch numbers. It was even signed by the Vice President: Jose Luis Miguel.
Apparently, I was one of 17 international winners in this category, sharing $10,468,770. Pabblo Sanchez, the foreign service manager of Santa Lucia Security Company S.A. was the name listed as the claims agent. They wanted 10% of my winnings (once I received my money - HA!)
There is a form that is supposed to faxed back (011-34-665-061-703) that is a 'Lottery Payments Processing Form'. Santa Lucia Security Company actually has a Rome, Italy address.
Funny thing is - I have never bought a Lottery ticket in Spain - or anywhere besides locally. This letter was very obviously a scam from word one.
Inticing as it may sound, check into these scams before doing anything. I found a lot of web references related to this which further convinced me of its falseness.
