Eliot Management Group also know as EMG, as an employer has  lacks professionalism and any sense of eithics.

Your first day there you do your only day of training.  It consist of several hours in the morning listening to either the sales manager or assistant sales manager tell you about the company and how much you can make working there. In the afternoon you take part in a conference call, more about the company and about the importance of setting appointments  . This is the only day you actually get paid for hourly, 8 hours at your state's minimum wage. Your second day the shove you on the phones with no real training. At thia point you only make money by commission. They say you will learn about the industry, the company's products and services as you go. Pretty much they set you up to fail.

The commissions are your only real source of income apart from the contest they offer from time to time. The way commissions work are as follows:

$100 for each account you sign.

55% of the firat years profits, this ia your first year residuals.

After each account is 1 year old you will get 1/12 of the residuals each month.

Now for the bad part:

1. If you fail to make quota one month, the next month all your residual based commissions are reduced by 10%.

2. If you put the client on a month to month instead of a 3 year contract your residual based commissions are reduced by 10%.

3. If you price them at pass through its another 10% reduction, if enhanced pass through its only 5%. They want you to put your clients on bucket pricing because they make a lot more money.

The company's management leaves a lot to be desired. Managers tend to show favoritism to those signing a lot if deals. This is because they make part of their money off the employeea hard work. They tend to look the other way when certain employees do things that clearly break company policies or are juat plan unethical. Employees have shown up under the influence of drugs or alcohol and managers look the other way. They seem to ignore sexual harrassment and inappropriate touching. Additionally employees have misrepresented to clients the facts about the contract or lease they are signing. Managers lack the professionalism to pull people aaide and talk to them about something, rather the like to call people out in front of all there coworkers.

They fail to inform you about the financial liability you have, such as paying for feea or equipment. As for their contest they are rarely fair. It seems only those in favor with management win. They will change the requirements of them without telling you.

If I were someone looking for a job in this industry or a merchant looking for sevice I would avoid this company if possible. I would use companies like Heartland or other direct processors.

Let me start by saying that I am a current employee for Eliot Management Group. I have been with the company for 7 months now. I have been in the industry of merchant processing for 9 years all together. I think that it is important to hear from a real employee who has made a successful career in this industry and is building a successful career with Eliot Management Group.

The sales position is a commission only position as are most high paying sales careers. ANYONE who doesn't know that or understand that should look for a career in a non sales atmosphere or go to a company in this industry that pays you a large $24k base salary and almost no commissions. For the real sales professionals out there. . . You can't beat the commissions or the bonuses paid in this industry or at this company.

When I interviewed I asked a TON of questions... as any semi intelligent sales professional would or should do. I knew it was 100% before the interview because the job posting i replied to said it was a 100% commission W2 sales position. Yes if you can read a job posting and you actually read it all you will not have ANY surprises like this individual did.

They do offer 1 day of PAID training and it is done over the phone from their corporate in Texas. It is all about the sales aspect of the job role. I found it to be helpful for a new sales rep but I have industry experience so it was all a repeat for me to hear. After that each office has a workshop EVERY morning on a different topic. This is optional for ALL reps to attend. Thise who are serious about their career and their income show up, participate, and learn. Those who don't never get paid and go on the internet and b***h about how it is everyone elses fault but their own. YES I am directing that at the individual who wrote this report. Each workshop is put on by a sales rep who actually takes the time to learn about this industry on their own time. They pick a topic... Study it, and then teach it to the group. That is how professionals take their career seriously.

Your upfront commissions are based off 1st years profit and you get a percentage of those earnings. So if a business will yield $8000 in 1st year profits you would get $4,400 once installed. If you don't hit your minimum quota, you lower your rolling average payout for the next month. That is called PAID FOR PERFORMANCE! Keep in mind we are talking about MINIMUM requirements. That minimum requirement is 4 new sales for the month... Yes that is right ONLY 4! Anyone that can't hit that should not be in sales period!! Let alone whinning in a public forum! Yes that is another comment directed at the individual who wrote this.

You also get residuals that start on month 13 for ANY business you sign up. You don't get half of the profits. Again this individual had no idea what he was saying. You get 25% of gross profits. So if the gross profits for the year are $8000 you get $2000 of residual paid out each month in the amount of $166.66 for that single account.

I joined this company because they have local offices in each city the provide service in versus call centers and remote reps with no managers and no accountability. I came here to provide a financially comfortable future for my family and I take it personally when someone who shouldn't be in sales slams the company or the profession I am in. I am averaging $11k per month in upfront commissions and all of my business is from referrals from happy and loyal clients that I have built over this past year. This is a great company and a great opportunity for anyone who can actually sell successfully.

Happy Selling Everyone!
