Tomas Furman came into my store and promised to lower my rates. My first invoice was higher than my previous company and sold me "state of art" equipment including a phone system. I signed a lease for the equipment ( huge mistake) and later found that, for example, the 6 phones were almost $11,000! I looked online and found the exact make and model phones 6 pack for $1,250. All the other Clover  point of sale equipment similarly over priced. A total of just under $42,000! He promised to develope an invoice and work order system and ended up yelling at my top saleswoman, calling her "the stupidest person he had ever met"(witnesses) and walked out. He says he saved us $3,400 that first month. He did that by encouraging us to raise out prices by 5%. That is not an ethical answer. I can't sleep over this. I found out later that I can't even get a buy out. Please help me. Thank you

Blatant misrepresentation of the truth.

The author of this anonymous complaint is Charles Barnum of CAM FABRICS, INC. d/b/a MAC FABRICS.

The FACTS:

FACT #1:  NPA eliminated all of Mac Fabrics credit card processing fees.

FACT #2:  The NPA DAP program earned Mac Fabrics more than $3200 in added revenue after only one full month of processing.

FACT #3:  Mac Fabrics' processing fees did not exceed $2600 for the same month.

FACT #4:  The revenue generated is attributed exclusively to the use of the DAP program.

FACT #5:  Mr. Barnums claims are proven false as evidenced by the excerpt below that comes from the document he signed to avoid going to court to face a slander lawsuit.

PROOF:  3. The parties agree that (i) all dealings between them were at arm's length; (ii) the parties had full and independent judgment of the commercial benefits and risks involved; and (iii) all terms and provisions were fair, reasonable and consistent with existing market conditions.

Why did he make a claim?

When asked, Barnum's response to that question was,

"I could have done that myself."

Barnum could also have:

  • Change his oil
  • Painted his own (Palm Beach) house
  • Write his own Facebook ads
  • Do his own taxes

Barnum prefers to hire someone to teach him how to fish and when it comes time to pay for the lessons, claim he could have done that himself.

A FINAL NOTE:  Barnum failed to mention that NPA found him approximately $15,000 in tax savings he would otherwise not have had without the DAP Program, reduced his phone bill by about 40%, and received a state of the art POS and enterprise-grade telephone system with ZERO out-of-pocket-expense.

A simple thank you would have been a better choice.
