a certain alhaju hassan Ibrahim, a Nigeria-based Moroccan who claims to be a devoted Muslim, fired an email to my daughter seeking assistance for investments in my country He claimed to have become wealthy from oil and related business in Nigeria but was being persecuted because he s supposed white. to prove this he sent two photos via the internet of a Caucasian looking family.
he added he wanted 20 million dollars shipped to the Philippines in cash from London through Elite Fleet Courier Company LTD, which is supposedly registered in London under No 829527. just as everything was in place, the company informed me that there was an excess in load that needed to be paid, otherwise the consignment would not reach me. but the email was pure con. if ibrahim is for real, why did he not pay the luggage cost in full and why a company that is supposed to be global be so ignorant in not charging the accurate amount when the baggage was entered for delivery?
the stories continued but things were not right. as a former professor of criminology, my instinct told me the whole story was a scam. this is the second time that a rifoff attempt happened to me and in both instances two individuals who introduced themselves as Nigerians were the culprit. in both cases, they even called me up by long distance.
