ELITE MOTORS OF TAMPA THE OWNER OF ELITE MOTORS OF TAMPA IS DISHONEST DON'T BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF TAMPA Florida
I was in the market for a Range Rover and when I was researching the vehicle online I came across an E-bay listing of a 2005 black Range Rover that was being sold by Elite Motors Of Tampa. I had a lot of interest in the vehicle but before I decided to purchase the SUV I had a few questions to ask the dealer. I eventually called the dealer and spoke with the owner "Greg" and asked him about the condition of the brakes and tires. When I asked Greg my question he was very short with me and asked if I had read the posting. I told him that I had and there was no mention of the brakes or tires on the posting. Greg seemed a bit aggitated and put me on hold for a few minutes, he got back on the phone and said that the brakes had approximately 50% of the pad left and the tires had 60% tread wear. I was perfectly fine with that because the vehicle was used and I thought that the wear was reasonable. Before I got off of the phone with Greg I mentioned that the front right wheel was missing a center cap and asked him to put a replacement center cap on the wheel before he shipped the car up to Rhode Island. He assured me that he would take a center cap off of one of the other Rovers he had in stock. When the car had finally arrived in Rhode Island I was quite shocked when I inspected the car. The tires had approximately 15% tread left, not the 60% I was told. The front right wheel was still missing the center cap, and the breaks had approximately 25% of the pad left. I should have done more research on this dealership before I had gone ahead and bought the vehicle. Based on other similar postings regarding Elite Motors of Tampa I am not the first or the last person who had to deal with dishonesty. This guy cares more about making a sale and padding his pockets than he does about unsuspecting customers. I strongly DISCOURAGE ANYONE from buying cars from these crooks!!!!!!

Greg told you "...tires had 60% tread wear...", meaning they had 40% left, not 60% left. It was an estimate of course in his favor. This is a perfect reason to never buy a vehicle without looking at it, test driving it, and having an independent mechanic look at it first
