EliteCare Emergency Center They charged me $6,800 to treat my 12 year old son's upset stomache. we we're there for 45 minutes. League city, Texas
Around 10pm one night in May my 12 year old son woke up with an upset stomach so my wife took him to this newly opened League City clinic. Dr Ghingree only quickly asked a couple question before filling one needle with three different drugs and injecting it into my son's arm. he then stuck an IV in his arm for a few minutes. After being there for less than an hour my wife & son were on they're way home with a perscription for two differnt meds, neither of wich were ever taken because the shot and/or IV done the trick.
three months later we got a bill for $6,819 which our insurance covered $4,958, after a $493 discount They "claim" we're liable for the remaining $1,368..... Lol... all from an upset stomach that ended up being caused by drinking too much milk before bed time. this place opened recently in the past year and hardly EVER has cars in the parking lot other than the employees, now I know why..... I feel that this place is only interested in getting the maximum amount of money out of anyone who happens to walk through they're doors. so unless your involved in a major auto accident in the front of this place or your RICH and dont care about money I'd advise driving anywhere else like a regular hospital, theres one four miles to the north and another nine miles to the south ...Steve.

Those fees DO sound high. However, I have to ask why any parent would take their child to an urgent care for an upset stomach? You say it was because he drank too much milk before bedtime. You took him to the clinic at 10 pm. So he was only sick for a few hours. Unless he was throwing up blood, I think you over-reacted (a lot).
