Complaint Review: Elizabeth Anderson

I put an ad in craigslist for a used refrigerator, a Sub-Zero.  This gal responded via email only, that she would buy sight unseen, without an inspection, price of $2,200, and the reason was she was out of town.

She proceeded to give me a check, for $2,700, which was to cover the costs of shipping to an undisclosed address, to a  "Shipper"??? in Georgia, individual name.  Check was written from a company "Manufacturers Steel, Inc.  Check looked OK, I deposited, but with all the sketchy information that she provided, i hesitated to send forward the balance of funds, which she was screaming for.

When asked about all the inconsistences in you story, i emailed her that i would wait until the check cleared on the other end before i sent her the balance.  With a couple of additional bogus emails trying to justify why the check was cut under a company's name, why the company didn't just cut the shipping check directly to the shipper, why no one asked about the refrigerator after the check was in hand, why i never did get a destination address, why the shipper was an individual, why the shipper was in Georgia, why the check was not certified as discussed prior, why the check came 2 weeks after it was supposed to, why no tracking number was provided as previously committed, why a lot of open ended stuff.

Now, today, after 1-1/2 weeks of waiting for the check to clear the issueing bank side, i have not heard from her.  I explained that i would wait til bank cleared, so now no peep from her.

I googled the name of the return address that i got with the check,and the name listed is associated with another craigslist scam.  Name of Ralph Martins, (836) 285-8262, AMAZON.COM.KYDC. INC, 550 Merrimac Avenue, Middletown, DE  19709..

Have not heard from her in two weeks.  Got her check returned from my bank, their notice that this account is closed.  So, good that i did not forward balance to her.

Her name on email correspondence is as follows:  "perfect_family@morrsion.net"  or "familyovereveything1@gmail.com" (note spelling on evey, not every), first phone email came from HTC One on Verizonwireless.
