Young women claiming to be Elizabeth Yah came to door on April 23rd at 8:30 p.m. saying that she was seeking funds/credits by selling magazine subscriptions through United Family Circulation, Inc. Her story was that she lived nearby and was in the process of getting the money through this endeavor so that she could pay for her travel expenses to attend Cambridge University. She stated that if I did not want the magazine subscription it could be sent to a Teen Shelter. I wrote a check for $28 that was to be combined with "another neighbor's donation" for a $48 subscription. After getting online belatedly I found that this same story has been used in other locations. I believe that I have been "ripped off" and am out $28. I am contacting my bank to determine how I can cancel my check.
