Complaint Review: Emarketresearchgroup

Emarketresearchgroup Ripoff scam DelRay Beach Florida

 • Reported By:

Like others, I have attempted to use the Emarketresearchgroup's services which involve signing up for 6 programs. In return I was supposed to receive an IBM laptop. I signed up for the 6 services, which were later confirmed by the organization and I was instructed to print out a gift redemption voucher. I printed off said voucher and sent it in as instructed. The instructions indicate that it will take 4 weeks for them to ship the product. The four weeks have long since passed and when I check the website I see that they still claim to have not received my voucher. I have sent the company numerous emails and, thanks to badbusinessbureau.com, I was able to loacte their customer service (or non-service as the case may be) number.

Their customer service number immediately patches you into a voicemail system that asks you to leave your name, phone number, and email address and they indicate that they'll call back within two business days. I've left two phone messages and I've heard nothing back.

I've sent probably 8 or 9 emails and I've had no response to those either. With regard to emails, the company requests that you turn off spam blockers as some filters will remove their emails (probably because of the general name of the organization). I did turn off my spam blocker and I was flooded with spam for a while, but I NEVER received a response to ANY of my emails.

This is not the first time emarketresearchgroup.com has come under fire on badbusinessbureau.com. Bri, of Manhattan, NY posted a message on 11/11/04 and received a reply on 11/25/04 from Jeff (an employee of the emarketresearchgroup). It was only because of this message that I was able to find the phone number as it is not published on the website www.emarketresearchgroup.com.

All I want is the laptop I was promised. I subscribed for services that were never rendered in some cases, a fault which I cannot attribute to emarketresearchgroup, but rather to those companies with whom I did business, but this has still left me very unsatisfied. I am currently working with the other companies to resolve the issues I am experiencing with their services and I may soon try to find resolution here.

The concept of emarketresearchgroup is quite good and I would do more business with them in the future if only they could provide me with the services promied and find a way to streamline their system. At this point I just want my laptop for school next semester. If somebody could provide me with a number where I could reach a live person, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Phone Number for Emarketresearchgroup

#10Author of original report

Fri, January 07, 2005

Last time I checked we were no longer able to post phone numbers here (which is rather self defeating), but the phone number is in one of the other threads. Go back and look for a post from Bri in Manhattan, NY. There's a number in his post, which is the number I called. I'll tell ya' though. You've GOT to be patient with them. Their CS staff is totally overwhelmed and they really do the best they can. Hope this works for ya'!

Daniel, I am glad you got answers to your questions. Would you be so kind to share Natasha's phone number? I am not 100% convinced that I will receive my Nintendo DS, but your post is encouraging. Thanks for your help.

For some reason "Bad Business Practices" is showing as posted AFTER "Problem Solved - Situation Explained." The post titled "Problem Solved" is supposed to be the last post.

PROBLEMS SOLVED - SITUATIONS EXPLAINED

#10Author of original report

Fri, December 10, 2004

Okay. I've talked with a customer service representative of emarketresearchgroup and I have answers for all of my questions and probably many of yours. Natasha, with emarketresearchgroup, called me back earlier today and I missed her call. In turn I called back and left a rather nasty voicemail to which I received another return call.

First and foremost I want to tell you all that should you ever get a chance to talk to Natasha YOU'D BETTER BE NICE. She's a really nice lady who is truly concerned about her customers and is very dedicated to her work. My phone call with her lasted about 30 - 45 minutes. Tell me when the last time somebody with the cable company took that long to work with you?

Anyway, I got my issues resolved, but I also learned several things about the company that I think everybody should know. Most of us have probably heard or read via their website that they receive a ton of email each day. What we have not been aware of is the extradonary volume of work that the staff of emarketresearchgroup is contending with. Consider this:

1. Emarketresearchgroup receives 2,000 emails EVERY day. Kinda' hard to even be able to go home for the weekend knowing that you'll have somewhere between 4,000 and 6,000 emails waiting for you when you come back to work.

2. They receive 1,500 gift redemption vouchers EVERY DAY. Each voucher is entered as soon as the envelope is opened, but this too takes time.

3. Emarketresearchgroup was able to fulfill roughly 200,000 gift redemptions last month. That's a little over 6,650 a day assuming it was a 30 day month and nobody left for the weekend.

Now, considering this volume, it is much easier to understand why it takes a while for people to respond to customer inquiries and fulfillment of gift redemptions, but the good news is THEY ARE THERE. This company is NOT a scam.

In an effort to help the company I made many suggestions as to what they may do to help improve their service. Some of my comments included bolding certain words (such as 2 selections per page) and a bit of reorganization on the FAQs. I'd like to invite other people to post suggestions as well because, as I found out, they are reading our comments!

Emarketresearch group is aware of the trouble we are experiencing and they do want to help. From what I gather they are a relatively young company and a bit misunderstood. To counter a few of the other claims related to this company:

1) They are NOT a scam

2) They are NOT selling your information over the Internet

3) Nobody in their Customer Service Department knows anything about your credit card number, Social Security Number, or anything like that. The only information they have about your activity is what links you clicked on in their website (any website can access this information about their own website), the fact that you made purchases (this is reported by the companies we sign up with), our name, email address, and mailing address (all of which is provided by us).

I hope this helps to clear up some of the confusion surrounding this group.

Also, I need to state the following:

AT THIS TIME I AM DROPPING ALL AFOREMENTIONED ACTIONS PERTAINING TO EMARKETRESEARCHGROUP. I am doing this as an independent decision and without the persuasion of Emarketresearchgroup, its representatives, or affiliates. Emarketresearchgroup performed the services I have requested and, after having talked with Natasha I am aware of the stresses placed on the employees that prevent immediate feedback from the company.

If any of this sounds too much like lawyer speak (as a friend of mine calls it), that's because I'm pre law. :)

If anybody has any questions for me about my experiences, please post a reply to this message and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

Bad Business Practices

#10Author of original report

Fri, December 10, 2004

Well, I finally received a call back today, but I was in an exam and couldn't take the call. When I called the number I was left I was sent back to the same voice mail so that I could leave yet another message. Talk about bad business practice. Interestingly, the phone number I was given to call was not the number from which the call originated. When I called that number I had to know the woman's extension to get a hold of her, but since she didn't leave it I couldn't get anybody. Talk about unfair!

I'm calling them back and giving them a one day extension.

The North Carolina Attorney General's office is rather interested in my situation. I advise they get their act together.

Preparing to get Ugly

#10Author of original report

Thu, December 09, 2004

It's 10:38 a.m. here in NC. So far this morning I have contacted my local CBS affiliate, the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida, and the office of the Attorney General for the state of North Carolina.

I've already started working towards resolution with these three organizations. I have also contacted emarketresearchgroup again and told them that I'd be prepared to drop ALL of this if they would just call me by 12/13/04.

I made sure that the date was clearly stated and I reminded them that I've been calling for three weeks and I've sent 8 or 9 emails already. I will keep everybody up to date on the results of my actions.

If anybody else can offer any assistance, I'd greatly appreciate it.

As of 6:00 p.m. I have yet to receive a call. I have called the company again, but I fear that I will still find a wall of silence.

I called this group yesterday and today and I still have yet to receive a return call. I am sent directly to a voicemail the promises a call back within two days. This is my 3rd call on top of numerous emails.

I also checked the website and they still claim to have not received my voucher.
