I was offered a deal on a past debt for a settlement if I apllied for the program through Jeffereson capital which is also Embrace Visa. I have been paying these poeple for almost two years. I missed 2 payments in which I completely overlooked. They called me like every thing was ok with the account and I later sent them a payment of 40.00 to bring the account current. I called them today Feb.20, 2008 to see when I would be able to use my card and I was informed that I was no longer in the program as of December 6th 2007. This is complete bull**** this company is suspose to help you rebuild your credit and they pull a stunt like this. Not to mention you pay them the money and can not get a Person that speaks an ounce of English Its like every one is "Hooked On Phonics".

I am reporting this comapny to every intity that I can, I am also writing to my stae rep. This is not fair to people who work hard for their money and are trying to get their credit back in order. This company is a rippoff and I suggest that no one takes anything they offer. you have a better chance disputing the debt and it getting wiped off your credit because they did not respond in thirty days.

Do not trust anyone on the telephone - ever! Make sure everything is in writing or you ask permission to tape all conversations since then they are admissible in court. Most credit card companies and banks have forgotten their original purpose, to provide a service, and have taken as their focus ever raising their profit margin. They do not get it. If you make everyone poor by tying up funding and loans, and heap too many fees onto people, then they will not be able to pay what is due. Then when they raise the interest rates so they are basically obscene (once called USURY), well that combined with late payment fees, almost crush any person trying to do the right thing. The banks have changed the bankruptcy laws by lobby so they have intentionally tied up all the ways that the poor folk can escape their clutches. Statistically it has been shown that poor folk want to pay so they can find credit or take out loans, the only way to handle life emergencies and with this practice there is no way out. The Benjamin Franklin adage penny wise and pound-foolish comes to mind. The insanity of short-term profit over long-term financial stability doesnt work. Do not expect any help from the greedy banks - EVER! I would also file a report with this government site: http://www.ftc.gov/reports/index.htm
