EMERGE MASTERCARD AKA PROVIDIAN AKA GETSMART.

I ALWAYS MADE PAYMENTS ON TIME AND THEN RECEIVED A LETTER IN APRIL OF 2002 THAT EFFECTIVE THE 1ST BILLING DAY IN DECEMBER 2002 THEY WERE RAISING INTEREST RATES TO 29.99%

IF YOU DID NOT WANT THIS THEN YOU CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT BY MAY 6, 2002. I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT. THEY IMMEDIATELY RAISED MY INTEREST RATE TO 29.99% FRAUDULANTLY. I HAVE SPENT MONTHS AND HOURS AND DAYS TRYING TO GET THIS CORRECTED.

I FINALLY DECIDED THAT AFTER THEY WOULD NOT CORRECT IT THAT I FILED A DISPUTE, DISPUTING THAT THE AMOUNT I OWED AND FINANCE CHARGES WERE INCORRECT. THEY REPORTED ME LATE AND CHARGED LATE FEES WHILE I WAS IN DISPUTE STATUS AND NOW I HAVE A BLACK MARK ON MY CREDIT BECAUSE OF THEM.

THEY CONTINUALLY CALLED AND HARASSED ME AT HOME AND WORK SOMETIMES GETTING VIOLENT WITH ME AND INSULTING OVER THE PHONE EVEN AFTER I HAVE TOLD THEM TO NOT CALL AND EVEN SENT THEM CEASE AND DESIST LETTERS.
