Emergency and Specialty Animal Medical Center Blinded and Almost Killed My Cat Birmingham, Alabama
This place almost killed my cat! They gave her Tramadol and gave me the WRONG DOSAGE DIRECTIONS so I overdosed her the first time I gave her the med. Even the correct dose was too much!
He also dispensed the wrong number of antibiotic tablets. We got only half the pills we were supposed to get.
All my kitty had wrong was a urinary tract infection. Dr. Carlo urged me to have all sorts of expensive tests and x-rays done, even though he could find no physical reason for them. I declined.
After Dr. Carlo saw my kitty, her condition steadily declined.
By the time she had had three doses of the meds he prescribed, she was practically comatose. She crouched, day and night, never eating, drinking, or sleeping. Her eyes were completely dilated and stayed that way for over a week. And she had a raging case of projectile diarrhea.
She spent two days in intensive care at her regular vet on fluids and force feedings trying to undo what Dr. Carlo did to her.
My cat is now partially blind and has panic attacks. She was perfectly healthy except for the UTI before they saw her and now my sweet, playful, loving kitty has been replaced with a terrified feral stranger who hides in the closet all the time.
When we asked for our money back, they told us their "board" had reviewed our case and found that Dr. Carlo and company did nothing wrong.
My regular vet told me that Tramadol should NEVER, EVER be given to a cat.
Dr. Carlo destroyed my cat, even if she's still breathing. Since he can't fix what he did to her, I don't think it's too much to ask for him to give me back the $215.30 I paid for her destruction.
