Complaint Review: Empire Beauty School Louisville KY Dixie HWY

 I went to empire beauty school in 2012. Through the my time there 3 education directors came and then left, and 5 teachers were fired. I was also harassed by a teacher so bad I cried and she responded "sorry I made you cry" in a very passive aggressive way, instead of her simply apologizing for treating me badly..she was reprimanded and a week later she was fired. This brings me to my point, the harassment and lack of education I reviewed from the staff at empire hindered my education so badly that I sometimes missed school in order to avoid being tormented. Not to mention due to the high Stagg turn over rate I was not getting the education that I needed to pass state board to retain my licence. I was told that I needed to make up some hours in order to remain in good standing at school so I began staying late and coming on the weekends to make up hours. I did this for a week when all of the sudden an instructor pulls me to another room and told me that I was kicked out over my attendance. This was a set up. You see, if you attend empire for 899 hours then you only owe half of the tuition..however, once you hit the 900 hr mark, empire charges you for the full tuition. I was kicked out of empire at 904 hours. So the day I hit the 900 mark, and my tuition was doubled, I got kicked out. this is also after the instructed told me the previous week to do more hours. My attendance wasn't as bad as a lot of other students who went there and besides being picked on by the staff I actually had medical documentation for the majority of the time I missed. I was tricked into going over 900 hours just so empire could charge me double... I ended up enrolling in a.better beauty school and passed with flying colors with no attendance issues and received my cosmetology license on the 1st try after receiving a proper education. But now I owe empire full tuition for a poor education and a poor staff. Do not go here!
