Empire Marketing Systems (EMS) ripoff, dishonest, ignoring my calls, rude, crooks St. George Utah
Hey Jason, I know you'll see this. I did not want to have to do this, but your continuing disrespect for my situation, and the fact that you (or anyone else from your company) absolutely refuse to return my calls and emails, has given me no choice.
It all started after I bought an ebook (The Silent Sales Machine on Ebay) a couple of months ago. Somehow these guys (EMS) got my phone number and contacted me three weeks ago. The representative who called me wanted to know if I was interested in a business venture with them. Basically, EMS would help me through the steps of starting my own online business.
He asked me a few questions about my dedication to starting a business and the like, and he later "recommended" me as an "excellent candidate" for their business.
He then went over the cost for me to "join" them as a client. I told him I had $1,100 saved up in my account. He said most of their clients invest $4,000 to $7,000, but that "they could work with what I had".
Now before I go further, I want to point out that that $1,100 was ALL I had. I was fired from my job about a month and a half prior to this phone conversation. So basically, I had zero income at the time (I'm only 18 and I'm still in High School). I made all of this PERFECTLY clear to this guy, but he still insisted that they could work with what I had. Still a little skeptical, I agree to pay them the 1100 dollars. I'm not usually this dumb, but those people have a way with words.
Now I also want to point out that I was completely mislead about exactly 'what' I was getting for my money. The guy I talked to made me think that $1100 was all I needed. I figured they'd start me out on Ebay, as that's what we talked about (and the fact that they got my number through that Ebay related ebook I purchased). Now this is my fault for not getting more info, but he could have clarified things better. I believe he deliberately left out HUGE details, details had I known about I would have never agreed to pay them. This was all done just to get my money.
It wasn't untill after I wired them my money, that I found out exactly what I had paid for, which was only coaching. I know realized I was going to have to pay seperately for merchant accounts, web hosting, domain name registeration, and marketing ( all things I thought my 1,100 dollars was going to, or atleast partly).
This would have been all perfectly fine if I had big bucks to spend on this, and of course, as I've already mentioned, I did not. Unfortunately, after I came to my senses and realized I had made a terrible mistake, it was after the three day cancellation period so they would'nt refund my money.
When I contacted them over a refund, I talked to a Jason Cambeth who explained this to me, even after I had told him I was broke. Jason then echoed the same thing as the first guy, that I should just try it out and that I can make money from this. I still was'nt buying it (afterall, I do know how much it cost to start a business and I didn't have it). I decided to try anyway, or atleast see what the coaching would provide me, seeing as they would not give me back my money.
So I scheduled an appointment with my coach, Doug, for the 27th of April. It is now the 6th of May and I STILL have not heard from this guy. So, not only was I mislead about exactly 'what' I was getting for my $$$, now I'm not even getting what I supposively 'what' DID pay for. Now, I'm pissed.
THEN, a few days ago, the inevitable happens. I get a call from a merchant account company, wanted $2,300 from me to open a Merchant Account!!!! This is the kind of stuff I had originally thought I had paid for with my initial investment! I, again, told this company that I was broke and had nothing to give them, yet they still wanted to know if I could get money together for a $300 downpayment!!! What a bunch of crooks!!! These guys, just like EMS, don't give a rip whether or not I succeed, as long as they can squeeze money out of me they're happy.
Now I'm really pissed. I again tried to call EMS to cancel and get a refund, but every time I called I couldn't even get in contact with someone who would talk to me. I told the operator at EMS several times to tell Jason, or somone else who would discuss my situation with me, to give me a call. Almost a week later, and about five or six calls to EMS later, and I have yet to talk to this Jason, or anyone else. They have been completely ignoring me.
Ohh, I did mention that my coach has still not contacted me AT ALL, right?
I then tried to email them, I told them my situation in a long email and ask them to please call me, otherwise I'd be forced to report them here and other places. They must not have taken me seriously as they have not answered that either.
So, here I am, out $1,100 that I sweated over to save, all gone for nothing. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, as now I can't continue with EMS 'cause I'm broke, and I can't go at starting a business on my own because I've giving everything to EMS!!!! And I still haven't even talked to my coach!!!
Bottom line, This all could have been avoided. These people KNEW I didn't have the money to follow their system, but they lured me in anyway to get my money. I mean, how does a 2300 dollar merchant account "working with what I have"? I know there are cheaper solutions out there like PayPal they could have started me on (but they wouldn't get any $$ out of that).
I shudder to even think how they were expecting me to pay for marketing my site, or web hosting? They obviously didn't care. They just told me what I wanted to hear, and I stupidly fell for it.
Still waiting to hear from you EMS.

Never wire money!

When a company wants you too wire them money instead of paying with a credit card or check they are usually ripoffs. they know if you paid your 1,100.00 with paypal or credit card or check you could reverse the charges and get your money back. you paid your dues. nver do this again. but don't give up on internet marketing there are many legit services that will work and it won't cost you no 1,100.00 dollars to do it. Also nver tell anyone how much money you have. You told them how much money you have. never do this. always check around on scam sites such as ripoff report too see if there is any complaints.
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome! Perhaps a class action lawsuit should be filed!

I too have been ripped off by Empire Marketing Systems (EMS), which is just a "mentoring company", and I was wondering if you've had any luck with the Utah Attorney General's Office and/or your personal attorney? There are several affiliate companies associated with EMS, and it seems they all have complaints filed against them in some manner or another. I wonder if a class action lawsuit is possible to help those that have been "had" by EMS and/or any of there affiliates. ???

Still No Response ...They will take your money, give you nothing in return

Beware of Empire Marketing Systems. They will take your money, give you nothing in return (except some cheap, unhelpful software), and then refuse to issue a refund even though you request one in the allotted time. When you complain, they will begin a character assassination agenda against you--by an individual who is so unprofessional, immature, and unintelligent that he would not have been able to graduate from the fourth grade.
I have still not received ANYTHING of value for the $1100 I gave to EMS. All I have received is additional sales pitches encouraging me to invest even MORE money to get a business going. I AM NOT finished with this company. I am in contact with the Utah Attorney General's Office and have enlisted a lawyer to help get MY money back. This company has no conscience and will take whatever you give them and give you little if nothing in return.
They don't care one bit that I gave them ALL the money I had--$1100. I worked for minimum wage saving that money by doing construction work. I am living with my parents, have no car, and have only a part-time job at minimum wage. I just turned nineteen years old. EMS took advantage of my age and vulnerability. I have learned a very valuable lesson, but I am still trying to get a refund. I am writing this to help other people avoid being ripped off by EMS.
Make sure you do your homework with these people. The services they offer you can be had with MUCH less money. I find it interesting that they have no set fee for these services. Whatever amount you say you have, that's what they'll take because, as they say, "We can work with it." The problem is that you can't work with it. Get yourself a $39.95 e-book and you'll learn all you need to know without using this rip off "consulting" company. If anyone wants to join me in recovering money STOLEN by EMS, let me know.

EMS Empire Marketing Systems and there LIES
#6Consumer Comment
Mon, May 17, 2004
I was silly enough to buy a report on making an additional income from the internet called "silent sales machine" only to find that once I paid the initial fee for the e-book based around a few words consistently repeated.
I was to receive a phone call from a sales person who asked lots of questions to find whether I qualified for an appointment with a LIER called ANTHONY FEAGAN, the qualifying question was do I have $6,100.00 to invest in the marketing scam, I stated if the opportunity was the correct one I could possibly stretch to $6,100.00 dollars if I spread the payments over all of my credit cards as a owner of a respectable head hunt organisation I understand you have to speculate to accumulate however I would need the money back as soon as possible as the reason I was looking to further my income was due to the fact I was short of 2,000.00 a month on my income (I had up until then borrowed to my maximum)
the LIAR ANTHONY FEAGAN stated that 99% of the people that invested in this opportunity got there money back within 30 days 60 days maximum therefore I stupidly believed him as I am a very hard worker in my current position and the successes.
I have had to date in both a professional and personal manner and borrowed additional funds on top of my credit cards as he categorically stated I was guaranteed the cash back if I worked 10-15 hours a week, I was on to a winner (I suppose the PROMISE of earning an additional $8,000.00 to $15,000.00 every month was appealing to me especially as he was fully aware of my short fall every month) and that it was all fully guaranteed to give me these results due to there tried, tested and approved system.
After a 2 hour conversation with ANTHONY FEAGAN the LIAR he repeated what I was getting for my money ALL LIES. A few days later I was then introduced to my trainer, a VERY NICE INFORMATIVE GUY that to the best of my knowledge has been honest in the conversations I have had with him.
He worked for EMS or WEBPROCOACH.com. To the best of my knowledge he is not a millionaire as ANTHONY FEAGAN the LIAR stated I would be trained by a millionaire.
My trainer stated that ANTHONY FEAGAN was not telling the truth and that only 20% of the people that signed into EMS or WEBPROCOACH made there initial outlay back if they were lucky and put in a large number of working hours, they did that within a 6-12 month period however he does know of a guy that makes approximately $12,000.00 a month and that that is the best he has heard of, he also stated that nothing was included in the price apart from 12 x 1 hour session with him, if I was told that I might have paid a fee albeit not the 6,100.00 asked of EMS as the trainer was not a millionaire how on earth could he teach me how to become one.
PLEASE please PLEASE avoid all contact with anyone from EMS or silent sales machine s they own the marketing rights to them, as a British Citizen with family in America and America being the place I like to spend my vacations I believe America is a great nation however if you intend to keep it that way you need to make sure rip-off companies such as EMS or WEBPROCOACH that promise the earth and do not deliver in the slightest are struck off and the directors of the organisation and organisations such as these cannot trade in AMERICA.
God bless,

Still haven't heard a thing from them! (EMS)
#6Author of original report

It's been a few days since I posted my original report and I still have not heard anything 'official' from EMS. I did get a harassing email from one of their employees threatening to sue me if I said anything more against them. This kind of behavior only reinforces my argument that this company is not only fraudulent and deceiving, but they are also highly unprofessional.
Only unlegitimate, scamming, and crooked companies treat their customers' in the way they have treated me. REAL businesses know that no matter how unreasonable a customer may be, (or, in my case, think one may be) you ALWAYS, always, respond to them in a friendly manner.
Hey Nolan, maybe you should call me so I can give YOU a $1,100 coaching session on customer relations?
Anyway, I still haven't heard from my coach yet, even though I've tried to find out from EMS why I he hasn't called me. They said they'd take care of it, and surprise, surprise, they have not - I still have not heard A THING from him.
This week I am going to try Utah Cybercrimes and I'll also talk to a lawyer about this. They might not answer me, but a call from those folks may get them to take notice to my problem.
Thanks again Rip-off!
