Received a quote of $2,600.00 for moving from Southfield, MI to Memphis, TN. Budget Movers arrived in unmarked truck 1/28/04, with four(4) workers, two (2) were from a local temp. agency, with no moving experience. Repeatedly loaded wrong items, did not pack anything properly. Paid for mattress cover for new mattress, found they placed it in a dirty pad and charged for a cover. Items were not properly labelled.

After seven (70 hours of packing and loading, driver informed me that there wasn't enough room and the bill was $4,670.00. I cancelled the contract and ordered my belongings unloaded and offered to pay for their packing. Driver took off with all my belongings after I called police. Held my furniture hostage for two weeks until I wired them $2,400 and paid the remainder in postal money orders on their arrival. Did not bring furniture into my home, left most of it in the carport in the rain.

Many items damaged and missing. Driver employed temp. personnel again to unload. Driver cussed me and kicked my door when I refused to sign delivery sheet. I watched them deliberately break my items by standing on top of my Thomasville china and throwing all boxes marked glass and fragile, to the floor of the truck. The lost the legs to my piano, my stereo, all my DVD's and CD's were stolen (the cases arrived without the CD's).

When I reported the damage their office staff hung up on me. I had to call the police at pick-up and delivery. They deliberately damaged my furniture because I had reported them to the BBB and called an attorney.
