 Empire Today removed our living room carpet and old laminate flooring they sweeped the dust from the cement floor. Semi-vaccumed some areas. By the time we came to check it was too late installers were cutting/grinding 36' of edging 1/4" on up.. around a granite rock wall to make the new flooring fit. Rock & cement dust flew throughout the house. They also cut laminate boards, out in front of the house causing dust to come into the house. We had to open all windows. During this time they did not install proper equipment or ventilation to contain the dust. The whole house is a mess, including under the new floors. We cleaned the whole house (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) from ceiling, walls, windows, curtains, kitchen, closets, bathrooms, cabinets, everything.. and vacuumed 8'x36' granite rock walls. Mopped floors dozens of times. The floors are black when mopped... Nothing is working..dust odor remains in the house. We both have headaches, coughs throat burns. We can taste the odor in our mouths. We went to the doctors, we have allergies, husband has asthma and respiratory problems. We can no longer stay in our house, since Dec. 13, 2016. We've been calling Empire Today customer service (800-588-2300) for a 2 -1/2 weeks now. We entered two work service tickets, they informed us a manager will call us in 24 hrs. Also left a message at 866-588-2334, X4541. Floor Installation Oct. 25th . The first call to Empire was Dec 21st. On Dec. 30th finally received a call from Regional Manager to meet with a Floor Supervisor. We haven't heard from anyone yet on how are they going to resolve this problem. This has now become a health issue.
