We had a pipe burst that flooded our basement. I called three different companies and Empire had a sales associate sent out almost immediately. She had samples of carpet and tile and was very knowledgeable. I was able to choose what I needed and it was all good. Then.. at the end of our conversation concerning price, etc. She had a contract to sign. Meaning make the decision right now. I was comfortable with that. In the contract it stated I had three days to cancel the contract with no questions asked. I had no intention of cancelling. However, she did not explain that the three days was only if I ordered custom work, ie window treatmens, blinds such as that.

The appointment for installation was set up and I was assured both the tile and carpet would be installed on the same day which was great. The morning of the installation I received all call that all was well and they would be there by ten. About thirty minutes later I was called and told that we wouldnt be getting the carpet as it was raining. I am sorry, but it does rain in Georgia and a company that toots that is is a great company should have back up. Not to mention the work was contracted out from someone that lives almost three hours from my home! Two hours later I receive a call saying the tile installer was still 45 mintues out and he had had a flat tire!

The work was not started until the following day. I can honestly say I think I could have installed it better!

I work full time and my step son is deaf. He can read lips but he is uncomfortable around people he does not know. So I missed a full day of work and could not be there to see what was done.

The sales rep that I had spoken to and met would not return my phone calls or answer a text. There is NO direct number to reach anyone and an email always states " Do Not Reply".

If ever need carpet, tile anything I will make sure to steer anyone away from them.

The installation was inferior, the service was inferior, no one knows what is going on with the contractors they hire and I do not believe I spoke to the same person twice the six times I called. The only constant was the recorded message from Empire.
