Complaint Review: Empire Today

Empire Today ripoff, shame, installation is delayed and shoddy, customer service people are rude and always connecting you to some other number. This had been going on since July 2005 and it is now December 17, 2005. I have taken time off from work. I have paid $5000.00 of the $5830.00. No one has answers. This company's ads on TV are a lie. installation is delayed and shoddy, customer service people are rude and always connecting you to some other number. This had been going on since July 2005 and it is now December 17, 2005. I have taken time off from work. I have paid $5000.00 of the $5830.00. No one has answers. This company's ads on TV are a lie. I am contacting Consumer Protection and Better business Bureau.

Last July I contracted with Empire Carpet and Flooring to put carpet down in two bedrooms and lamenent flooring in the rest of the first floor. The day the carpet was to be installed I received a call advising me that the carpet I had selected was unavailable and would have to be ordered and might take up to 4 weeks to get. This is from the company which advertises next day installation. I cancelled the carpet order and within a week had new carpet ordered and installed by a different company.

The lamenent flooring was installed on July 6, 2005. The cost of this flooring was $5,830.00. Of this amount I have paid $5,000.00. Since the initial installation there has been nothing but problems with the flooring. My daughter and I have contacted Empire on numerous ocasions and the several times men came out to fix the problems, the problems were made only worse. Finally, 2 weeks ago a gentleman came out and advised that the entire flooring would be replaced. Today, December 17, 2005, at 8:00 am I received a call from Empire, once again, telling me that the installers were not available and we would have to reschedule. I became upset and reminded them that it is now a week before Christmas I have not been able to put up my Christmas tree and decorations. Now the installers are here and want to charge me extra for the molding which they incorrectly installed the first time. I have had it and will make sure that no one I know ever uses this company again. I will be sending letters to the Consumer Affairs division in New Jersey and in New York. I will be contacting CBS, NBC and ABC; who have various shows concerning companies who rip off and take advantage of people

Everytime that I hear that catchy little jingle, you know the one that sings out their phone number in four part harmony - eight hundred five eight eight, two three hundred, Em-PIRE - bomp! Any company that has that kind of catchy jingle must be good to deal with.

Plus on the same commercial where the voiceover says "Call Empire Today" and the baby goes perfectly on cue, "goo!" - what professionalism.

And lastly, aren't those cute Claymation characters a hoot, I mean they are all so tiny yet they can throw down a wood floor just like magic!

I like Empire Today!
